So can someone in the know give a total Las Vegas newbie some good information about the city and seeing the show?

Re: Las Vegas Production
Some might be interested in submitting nominations for Broadway World's new Las Vegas Theatre Awards. It would be nice to see Phantom up there somewhere.
You don't have to fill in a nominee for each category on the list. Nominations close on November 30th.

Re: Las Vegas Production
The nominations are in for Broadway World's Vegas Awards and Phantom is up for a number of categories.
Voting is open NOW and closed Jan 15, 2011.
Forum member Meglett/Brianne Morgan is up for an award.
You don't have to vote for every category, just the ones that interest you.
There are a lot of Jersey Boys cast nominated so might have a tough time against those fans.
Cast your vote here!!!

Re: Las Vegas Production
Phantom Las Vegas is up for 11 BroadwayWorld Las Vegas Awards, and right now, they're getting their @sses handed to them by Jersey Boys! behind by 28% in the Best Book Musical category! Brianne's down by 3% in the Best Featured Actress Category! Crivello and Ragone are only leading by 1-2% in their respective categories!
C'mon people! Rally the phandom and vote for Phantom Las Vegas! We can't let the Opera Ghost be beaten by Snookie and The Situation!
Wait, am I thinking of the right Jersey show?
Voting ends January 15th. Cast your vote now!
R.
PS: Think about it: the better Phantom fares in these sorts of things, the better it looks in the eyes of the management. Which can help push certain agendas like, say, another Fans Week...

Re: Las Vegas Production
We've had a couple of new people come into our Phantom family.
First of all, Arsenia Soto is on maternity leave and Krista Wigle is here to cover for her ensemble track and u/s Carlotta.
Second, Ian Jon Bourg is on leave and Stephen Tewksbury is here to cover his ensemble track, Phantom u/s and Andre u/s.
Also, Phantom is still in need of your votes in the 2010 Broadwayworld.com Las Vegas Awards. Please vote for us.

LOL! My Mom said the same thing. She was very confused as to why we were in that category.

Re: Las Vegas Production
So I have a question about the backstage tour - what is it like? Do you pay for it? Does it last a while? I would love to know details.

Re: Las Vegas Production
The VIP Tour Package? It's $250 and include a seat in the Golden Circle wherever you like. When you get to your seat, you'll be greeted and be given a colour program. The times I've gone with people it was the company manager, Mark Andrews, who greeted us but I've seen others doing the greeting before.
After the show you will meet your guide(s) and after the all clear you go up on stage for a bit and then downstairs to me Anthony Crivello or whomever is on as the Phantom that night. Unless it's changed you go to the makeup room and watch as the prosthesis is removed and you have a bit of a Q & A. Then you get an autograph and photo before he leaves. You might bump into some other cast members along the way.
You get to tour below the stage and learn how things work. Usually you get to visit the wig room too. So many pretty wigs. The first time I went we also went to a wardrobe area but it's been off limits every other time.
You end up back on stage for a more in depth look at the theatre and then you're done.
Tour usually takes at least 45min but depending on the crowd and how many questions, it can go a lot longer.

Re: Las Vegas Production
Thank you so much! I wonder if I dressed in costume and was only with a few others if they'd let us get a sneak peak
I hope I get to go soon. But I might be visiting NYC before that. Have to choose, probably.

I can't believe it's already been 4 years and 2,000 performances! And I can't believe no-one has started eating that cake in your picture... It looks delicious!
Were there any speeches, special guests or similar?

Congratulations PLV on 2,000 performances!
2-0-0-2? Umm, Kristi, I don't think you're doing the numerals by body parts thing correctly.
Ah, looks like she got the hang of it with a little help from her castmates.
For the love of God, CUT YOUR HAIR, ANTHONY! You're scaring the children!!!

Hey all!
It's AIDS Walk time and I am co-organizer of this year's team. This year we have put together a great collection for a silent auction. It includes ticket packages, signed posters, programs, pictures, pointe shoes, and masks, Phantom merchandise and finally a pair of bears made by me.
Go to teamphantomlv.com and start bidding on these great items. The bidding will end at 8pm Pacific time on April 16th with in-person bidding continuing on the day of the walk, April 17th ending at noon.

Seems like Colm Wilkinson stopped by the Vegas production the other day. I'm very curious to hear how he experienced it, seeing how he both performed the Sydmonton version and the iconic version. I'm sure he loved it!

Well, I know of two people who owe the forum gods a review of their Vegas viewings. Don't make them send the messenger, Raphael, to get you and bug you until you break down and do it. LOL!

I fear not, this angel of doom! LOL! And my two reviews (so far) will be combined as both shows were within an hour of each other.

I didn't bring a notebook and I'm not as good at remembering details as some of you are. Will try to get something together on the two shows I saw. Have mercy on me. I don't want to face the wrath of Raph.

In celebration of Phantom las Vegas company's 5th anniversary coming up this Friday, I'll be posting one pic a day exclusively from their anniversary gift, a high school yearbook parody. Here's #1, a group shot from the masquerade-themed senior prom:
