.... whoa.
I have to say, those are some of the nicest Phantom promo shots I've seen in a while. Wonderful to see the DJT costumes getting some attention, too. (Amusing to notice that they positioned the actors so that Tony doesn't seem dwarfed by Andrew, like he is in real life, lol.)
Figures, it's probably part of the publicity blitz that'll lead up to the finale.
Does anyone have the cover and the DJT shots in hi res size? Pretty please?

Request seconded!
EDIT: Also possibly worth mentioning - they appear to have a promotional give-away on the site for a trip to see the show before it closes.

Hahaha.... Sorry. But SQUEEE for those covers, especially the newest ones. Thank you for sharing!
Re: Las Vegas Production
I know it was probably just because of Valentine's Day, but I'm really glad they gave some attention to Raoul and Christine! Plus I like this cover much better than those previous two.

You can download the magazine for free in .pdf form. Here's the direct link:
http://digitaleditiononline.com/publication/?m=20891&l=1
I had a dickens of a time getting Firefox to open the link but Google Chrome worked perfectly. Once everything comes up, look on the right hand side and there's menu. The down arrow is to switch to .pdf mode and then you can download the magazine.

Re: Las Vegas Production
OK, curious mind needs to know:
A guy joining the VIP backstage tours was told that the dummies in the false boxes are dressed in costumes from previous Phantom productions. When I first heard it, it made sense. But then I studied pictures and saw many oddities. Strange gala uniforms for men, children's clothes....?
And then another came along and claimed all the dummy costumes were especially made for Vegas. Which kinda corresponds with (I think) Sue Wilmninton's design for three women in the false boxes:
Their dresses looks like a pastiche over Madame Firmin's, so she might have had re-use in mind. But why bother to make a detailed sketch at all?
Both persons are "religious" in their view. But is the truth somewhere in between; that some of it was especially made, some of it was hand-me-down? Opinions - or even better, facts - to add to this discussion? Or good pictures of the dummies?

Re: Las Vegas Production
I was told that it was only some of the costumes on the dummies that came from other productions. The rest were made for the Vegas production.
There was one costume in particular that was pointed out to me on tour and I can't remember at the moment which it was. I might have a pic but I'm not at home right now.

Re: Las Vegas Production
Oh yes, the sleazy pimp in the Seinfeld episode I just saw (The Maid) was definitely played by Anthony Crivello. That man is versatile, I'll give him that.

He sure is! You should see him in that one movie as a singing Draculaoperafantomet wrote:Oh yes, the sleazy pimp in the Seinfeld episode I just saw (The Maid) was definitely played by Anthony Crivello. That man is versatile, I'll give him that.

So I've got my hotel and flight booked for June and I'm wondering, what's the current schedule for alternates etc.?
~LCD
~LCD
Re: Las Vegas Production
Barring sick days or vacations, the alternate performs on Wednesdays and Thursdays in Vegas. Kristen Hertzenberg often posts her monthly schedule on her website. But if she forgets, you can always check Kristi Holden's calendar on her official website. If Holden's not on, obviously you'll be seeing Hertzenberg or understudy Sarah Combs.

Re: Las Vegas Production
I don't know if you've seen Kristen or Sarah but if you get them instead of Kristi, I don't think you'll be disappointed. They're all excellent Christines. I hope to catch them both again before the show closes.
Have fun in Vegas.

If you haven't discovered it yet, Brianne Kelly Morgan is updating a picture a day from the Las Vegas production and/or her backstage/offstage activities. The pictures are fantastic, and such a nice glimpse into their world. Examples:

Oh, and people.... I'm totally going to Vegas!!! Will be there for about a week, including seeing the final performance. It's a bitter sweet thing to cheer about, cause it breaks my heart the Vegas production IS closing. But I'm glad I'll finally get to see it live, and to join in giving it a proper farewell.
And yes, I am bringing a costume...

Wonderful news! I won't be there in September sadly (traveling over the holiday weekend just wasn't workable) but will be going in June for at least one (possibly two) looks.

A fine addition to what will be an occasion to remember! Glad to hear you're going - and are you going to sit there and tease us or are you going to tell us which costume you're bringing?

Actually, I'm open for suggestions! Haha. I'm thinking Aminta. It's easy to transport, fits well and is not on an embarrassing sewing level. The slavegirl one photographs well, but is on an embarrassing sewing level... The Wishing gown is definitely too heavy and warm, the Elissa skirt is a bit overkill, the wedding dress is not finished. So... Aminta.Madame Giry wrote:A fine addition to what will be an occasion to remember! Yes! I vote Aminta! It's always been my favorite of your costumes.
I'm also pretty sure that at least one of the fans going is planning on rocking a Don Juan robed Phantom look for Costume Night. So, potential photo-op!
