Re: POTO stuff on eBay
Oh wow! But that's a bit upsetting about the pictures (the Steve Barton fangirl in me wanted some awesome picture).
But, the rats! If only there was actual video of the horse and the rats onstage (even pictures!). The tales in the Behind the Mask documentary just make me so intrigued.

Some nice items right now on eBay:
Original painting by Bradley Parrish of the ALW Phantom
Eaton Press edition of Leroux's novel (this edition is *gorgeous* -- I've seen photos of it online and the illustrations inside are to die for...sadly it's way, way, WAY out of my price range)
Another gorgeous edition of Leroux with illlustrations by Anne Bachelier

Someone is selling an LA crew jacket on Ebay, but I noticed something rather interesting in the description:
LA Crew Jacket
Alan Jay Lerner was an early collaborator, but he withdrew after completing work on a single song, Masquerade, and died shortly thereafter.
Am I missing something here? lol

Well, I know the Perry book says that Lerner was approached to work on Phantom, but declined shortly before he passed away. I've never read anything that indicates he ever actually did contribute anything to it, let alone "Masquerade."
I want one of those jackets. Rather badly. But my budget says "No!"
Still, Mark Jacoby should consider himself extremely lucky that I didn't trail him from the Sweeney Todd stage door, whack him on the head, and steal his Phantom jacket right off his back.

Okay. I wonder how I missed that. I love Lerner & Lowe musicals. I don't think Masquerade is his, either.

Re: POTO stuff on eBay
Great.... So the "Pink Ribbon" Elissa skirt I sold on eBay... eBay has apparently introduced something called "Final Value Fee" since last time I sold something there, which is a certain percentage of the total sum. Now I have to pay $50 just for selling the skirt, on top of the fees?? Boy, that sucks. Definitely last time I do a stunt like that.

Ugh. That stinks. I vote we take a group collection to cover the $50 fee. Seriously.

Re: POTO stuff on eBay
They've always taken a % of the winning bid as part of their fees. Or is this a flat fee on top of that?
Re: POTO stuff on eBay
Somehow I missed this comment. I've paid the fees and all, so no worries. But thank you so much for considering it and suggesting it!MasqPhan wrote:Ugh. That stinks. I vote we take a group collection to cover the $50 fee. Seriously.

Hey everyone. Posted these images over in the 'rare photos' thread. These photos are pricy, but they look really pretty. Posting them here in case anybody would want to splurge.

Nearly 25$ for a photo?
Rare promotional flyer (1986!) published before the premiere. I haven't seen this hand with rose anywhere!

I have that - it's got a nice little letter from the Phantom inside penned in red. They took the gloved hand out as it was felt to be a bad omen allegedly, as it reminded Lord Andy too much of Jeeves, which at the time was his only flop and had had its premiere at Her Majesty's...
Re: POTO stuff on eBay
It IS very similar to the Jeeves though, I'll give them that.Scorp wrote:Klavirista wrote:Nearly 25$ for a photo?

Yeah, I know. :/ The guy posting them apparently has a lot. He just put up another one today.
Music of the Night - Crawford & Cohenour
If anything, I'd be more interested in the one's I've never seen before featuring Crawford.

Re: POTO stuff on eBay
This print costs 25$ also, but the size... my God, 61x90 cm!!! This photo is one of my favourite. It's not very rare, though...

You can't use them any more, but they WERE used as lids for plastic cream pots like these:Klavirista wrote:And... I'm not quite sure I understand for what this is used:

They're definitely unique, though a bit.... odd a thing to own.
Re: POTO stuff on eBay
Thanks, operafantomet

Re: POTO stuff on eBay
Perfect present for a hardcore movie phan, maybe?
Expensive and, well, somewhat creepy.

Hahaha, whaaaaat??? Didn't see that one coming... I think he looks more like Daniel Craig than Gerard Butler, to be honest.Paula74 wrote:Perfect present for a hardcore movie phan, maybe?

For some reason, that cape could be longer.
If someone buys it for that price, I'll be surprised. It's been up for an awfully LONG time now.
