Re: POTO stuff on eBay
For phans out there that keep an eye out for Phantom items on eBay, do Phantom SF Music Box collectibles still sell well? I'm in desperate need for more money and will probably end up selling a very good portion of my POTO SF Music Box collection. I just didn't know if it was a lost cause if not a lot of phans buy them anymore. Or does it depend how common/rare it is? I'm also unsure how to even price them. I'll probably look at the average and post them $5 under to get some people interested. Also, if anyone here might have something missing from their collection, perhaps I have it! Any help would be appreciated.

Re: POTO stuff on eBay
I'm always looking for POTO music boxes! You can email me with a list if you have the time: andersondevonk@aol.com
As for Ebay, they still sell. I just sold a bunch of Phantom programs online and made altogether about four hundred dollars! It's all in the pricing. Start a bid at 9.99 and I'm sure the bids will roll in! :-) Also, be honest and descriptive when selling. Hardcore phans look for this when reading about the item that is for sale.
Hope this helps!!

Re: POTO stuff on eBay
There's a framed Heindel on eBay right now...not cheap as it's part of a lot that includes a few other items (one being the Phantom jack-in-the-box):

Re: POTO stuff on eBay
$650 and 0 bilds... Not really surprised. Such package deals rarely sell well on eBay, as only hardcore fans will pay that much for collectibles. But hardcore fans is also likely to already own a couple of the items in the package deal, and hence paying full price for the one item one may want seems pointless. I actually think listing the items separately would give the seller a better price.Paula74 wrote:There's a framed Heindel on eBay right now...not cheap as it's part of a lot that includes a few other items (one being the Phantom jack-in-the-box):

I saw this posting on Ebay as well and agree. I think selling the items separately would be better and more likely to sell. $650 is a bit much even though the collection is wonderful, I wouldn't pay that price and I'm a big phan! I guess it all depends on how much money someone has!
Re: POTO stuff on eBay
That lot has been relisted with a lower starting price...though I agree that selling things separately would be a much better way to go.

Re: POTO stuff on eBay
I feel selling on ebay is a gamble no matter what you do. When a couple of my items didn't sell at the price I thought was reasonable, I took the suggestion and priced them real low; .99 each. But then both of them sold under $10 and I'm kicking myself because both were retired SF Music Box collectibles. I'm not sure if I should expand the time I have items on ebay, price higher, or even try amazon.

Re: POTO stuff on eBay
Yeah, it is a gamble. Depends on how desperate you are to make the money. If you're not, don't go lower than you think you should. But always look at what similar items are selling for. And advertise your listings here and anywhere else you think phans would be. You can also put a reserve on it (though I think they charge like $0.50 for that now) so you can start it at a low price but then if it doesn't reach the reserve price, it doesn't sell. Actually, I think if the bid isn't even up to the reserve, the bid isn't valid.

Re: POTO stuff on eBay
This is a good example of wanting too much from one single auction. This could easily have been split into five, six, maybe ten different auctions, with better chances of getting a fair price for the lot. As mentioned before, those in the market for such Phantom items will most likely own many of them already, and be less willing to pay an... ahem, steep price for only the few items they'd want.Klavirista wrote:I wonder who will buy this...

And the promise of an iPod nano in addition to the Phantom items is... erm... I dunno... unnecessary?

OMG! I was in that fan club back in the 90's when I was a kid!! In fact, I do believe I had all those back issues but they got thrown out by accident...LOL All I have left is my fan club card...lol Very cool to see this listed on Ebay!
Re: POTO stuff on eBay
I've searched various eBays for goodies this evening, and believe me I was ready to buy and spend money! But everything I wanted I 1. could not get, because sellers would not ship abroad, or 2. could not get, because the seller would not accept PayPal.
If only German eBay sellers knew how much money they loose out on by not shipping outside Germany...! Ditto for US sellers.

Re: POTO stuff on eBay
The same for me, operafantomet. Sometimes sellers don't ship outside USA/GB/Germany/Austria, so I used to pay a dealer company to get the wanted item

I echo that big time. I find it irritating sometimes when I DO have the money but certain sellers outside of the US don't take PayPal or don't ship here! I especially have that problem with Germany, that's why it took me so long to actually find a German program...lol
Good luck with your search!! Oh, if for some reason you are trying to ever find a US one that won't ship overseas, let me know. I could get it shipped to me then ship it to you. :-)

I'd love to get the half-mask even though it's the double's mask, but it's another case of not shipping internationally.

No doubt. That's one PK item I won't be bidding on then. lol Good luck with the auction!

The US RD masks go for $1,800 brand new.... So....the fact that I saved $800 is still good, right? 1 item down from my list of RD items to acquire....four to go....
