Re: Rare pictures 2
Welcome to the Deserted Phans asyl--- message board, Strangerthanudreamt!
Looks like you're seeking high quality screencaps from the RAH 25th Anniversary performance. Look no further, as fellow board member phantomgirl110 previously posted a link to a livejournal with a downloadable file folder of almost 8000 hi-res screencaps taken from the anniversary show. Follow the link in the quoted post below for nearly 1 gigabyte's worth of gorgeous crystal clear images.

Enjoy!

1992 Japanese Phantom Brochure Pics
I just got a souvenir brochure that's from Japan and dated 1992. The cool part is that the book itself is much wider so the pictures are bigger! I thought I would share some of them in case no one has posted them on the forum yet. There are some really pretty pics of the Wishing gown in particular that I like (apologize if the pictures are so big!):

Re: Rare pictures 2
Devon, those are fantastic! I know it's asking for a lot, but would it be able to scan more of this brochure? Especially Hannibal and eventual Final Lair ones? I don't have this brochure, but it seems to show the original style of the Japanese costumes. And I want moooore!
Am I wrong in thinking the Wishing gown with large white roses on the collar is worn by Kyoko Suzuki? The face reminds a lot of her, and the rose collar reminds too:

Is it the coffee table book? I so want to get my hands on that! Can you scan a few pics and share them with us?
Re: Rare pictures 2
Semi rare:
Marni Raab and Paloma Garcia Lee, from the US tour some years ago.
The usual photos from the US are so standarized, they tend to look the same no matter the actors. So seeing recent, good quality photos from different scenes and with different poses always thrills me.

More 1992 Japan pictures, directly from Devon's scanner! Thanks a lot for sharing these with us, Devon. Click to enlarge... It's worth it. Alas I find it so difficult to tell who is who of the cast. They had four Phantoms and three Christine and Raouls at the time, and the only one I recognize is Kyoko Suzuki as Christine. I wish they could at least write the names under the pictures, as they did in Korea. Anyway, I've added the names of the principals underneath.
I spot Kyoko Suzuki as lead slavegirl in front there.
Kyoko Suzuki and.... Meg....
Look Raphael! The anti-powder device from Il Muto!
Lovely shape to this Star Princess costume.
PHANTOM: Yuichiro Yamaguchi, Jun Sawaki, Eiji Akuragawa and Akira Aoyama
CHRISTINE: Kyoko Suzuki, Hisako Hanaoka, Takako Nakazawa
RAOUL: Masayuki Sano, Kanji Ishimaru, Kojiro Oka
CARLOTTA: Sayoko Kanai, Kazuyo Saito, Yukie Yokoyama

You are very welcome!
Yes, it is very confusing because they don't put names under the specific pics like you said. So it's a toss up I guess of who's who. ;-) I was drooling over shots of the Wishing and Wedding gown...love when they have those full close up shots! I love also how the brochure is bigger and wider. The 1990 one I"ll be getting is the same size!!!

Re: Rare pictures 2
I find with the Japanese productions, It is so hard to identify people, the only 2 that really stick out for me are Ms. Suzuki and Jun Sawaki.
like the one on the portcullis is Yamaguchi and the unmasked closeup in the boat is Sawaki.
a few of those pics too are in the coffee table book. THey have alot of nice backstage/props photos in that book aswell

Re: Rare pictures 2
For some reason, those Japanese pics are linking to this board and not directly to Photobucket, so I can't see them full-size. Anyone else having that problem?
Did they have that many people playing the various roles simultaneously?

Re: Rare pictures 2
I'm having the same problem with the Japanese photos, Dustin. They just open up thumbnail size in a new window. Not full size.

Re: Rare pictures 2
Yes, the links are totally screwed up. I have no idea why this is happening. They worked as they should earlier today, but now I get the same as you. A change within either Photobucket or Forumotion, I would think. I've been quarreling with Facebook for three days now, so I don't really have the energy to find out who's screwing up this time.... However, if anyone want any particular pictures, feel free to ask and I'll post the full size directly to the forum instead of thumbnails.
And yes, many people alternates in the roles in Japan. Like Marilyn Monroe and film stars of the 50s, they are permanently hired and put into the roles the director sees fit, rather than cast for the occasion. All Shiki cast members are strong dancers and singers, which is why their Christines still does the whole dance routine - en pointe. She IS as good a dancer as the others. Why they feel the need to have three or four in each role, though... I dunno. But I noticed that when some of them also doubled in other lead roles - one of the Phantoms also play Firmin, for example. So maybe some of them should rather be considered standbys than actual principals?

Re: Rare pictures 2
Haha, I saw that some while ago. It's from a slightly more serious photoshoot she did with the "house photographer" at Her Majesty's. They tend to take the pictures in that room. This one was just for fun, I think she posted it on her Twitter.EarlFan wrote:Stumbled upon this picture of Tabitha Webb, not sure what she's up to and why this picture was taken though

INCREDIBLY annoying that this forum suddenly don't accept Photobucket links with thumbnails. The new system is totally useless. I poked around in the admin panel to see if I could find any solution to it, but no luck so far. Seems like Forumotion suddenly has added a lot of stuff to keep people on the forum/keep them coming back. The added notifications emails which suddenly became mandatory is another example. Very, very annoying. In the mean time, add the direct link underneath as EarlFan did, and it'll at least take you to the original picture.

Re: Rare pictures 2
I've often named the Thomas Schulze/Colby Thomas/Björn Olsson brochure from Hamburg as my favourite. It still is. But before that one there were one of the same concept, with amazing pictures from unusual angles, some of which were reused in the Schulze/Thomas/Olsson one. It still amaze me how this "provinsional" production of Phantom managed to make some of the coolest brochures, promo videos and costumes in Phantom history. I the Hamburg production, and wish I remembered more from the performance I saw back in 1992.
The brochure in question is large, quadratic, and featuring Thomas Schulze, Colby Thomas and Ray Gabbard. It's from 1997. The brochure is to die for, and definitely one to grab if you see it on eBay. I think you can click on the thumbnails again and get the full size. If not, I've included direct links under the pictures.
