You'd think it really couldn't get worse at this point, wouldn't you?
You'd think wrong.

Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger To Join Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical
Singer's rep confirms involvement in 'Love Never Dies.'
Reports have recently surfaced that Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger will be involved in a staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel to "The Phantom of the Opera," and MTV News has confirmed the report that Schzeringer is working with Lloyd Webber on his new play, "Love Never Dies."
Scherzinger's level of involvement with the production is still unknown, and her rep said that no further details are available at this time...

Re: Love Never Dies - all views allowed
One of the articles I read suggested that she may be involved in the production in some way other than being in it, and I couldn't figure out what other way she could be involved at the time. But it just occurred to me: could they be bringing her on board to teach Summer Strallen how to become burlesque!Meg?
Re: Love Never Dies - all views allowed
That, or burlesque!Meg might have a team of dancers for her circus show. "Don't you wish the Phantom was strrrrooooong, like me? You know Poe's Law, which states that it's impossible for any parody of religious fundamentalism to be more absurd than the real thing? This is like the secular version of that.

It appears to be going down the "young and sexy" route of the 2004 film and we all know how well that turned out

Mine did too. Going on the same night. I can't even remember where I've put them now... My usual excitement at receiving tickets wasn't there this time.
Still not heard anything about the tickets I somehow managed to buy before they were supposed to sell them (i.e. before the launch), which was for the 22nd. Chances are very high that I don't want them though, so I'd much rather have my money back than get the actual tickets for that show.

I wouldn't call it official yet, considering the source is POTO.com and the person that posted it there got it from an eBay listing.Amberly_Nichole wrote:Here is the official track listing of "Love Never Dies" on Broadway World's website:

Re: Love Never Dies - all views allowed
I got a publicity postcard/flyer advertising Love Never Dies through the post this morning. I must be on the See Tickets mailing list. It says:
Following your visit to see The Phantom of the Opera, be the first to see The Phantom's reappearance in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies. Preview performances begin 20th February 2009 (yes, the publicity postcard says 20th February 2009, I assume they mean 2010 ).
The story continues...
Ten years after the mysterious disappearance of The Phantom from the Paris Opera House, Christine Daaé accepts an offer to come to America and perform at New York's fabulous new playground of the world - Coney Island. Christine arrives in New York with her husband Raoul and their son Gustave. She soon discovers the identity of the anonymous impresario who has lured her from France to sing.
LOVE NEVER DIES is a rollercoaster ride of obsession and intrigue in which music and memory can play cruel tricks and the Phantom sets out to prove that, indeed, LOVE NEVER DIES.
It goes on to say that tickets are now on sale and I should book now to avoid disappointment.

But it's not a sequel. Remember that...

Re: Love Never Dies - all views allowed
Judging from what we already know about the story, the space/time continuum seems to be irrelevant to the creative team, so maybe they do mean 2009Helen wrote: Preview performances begin 20th February 2009 (yes, the publicity postcard says 20th February 2009, I assume they mean 2010 ).
Methinks disappointment is built into the equation when it comes to this particular project. It goes on to say that tickets are now on sale and I should book now to avoid disappointment.

Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical Composing Legend
On Thursday, October 8th, 2009, Andrew Lloyd Webber unveiled his brand new production "LOVE NEVER DIES" at a global launch in London. "LOVE NEVER DIES" continues the story of 'The Phantom of the Opera', who has moved from his lair in the Paris Opera House to haunt the fairgrounds of Coney Island, far across the Atlantic. Set 10 years after the mysterious disappearance of 'The Phantom' from Paris, "LOVE NEVER DIES" seeks to capture the hearts of minds of audiences the world over, will it be successful at that daunting feat? "The Phantom of the Opera" won a staggering 50 awards worldwide, with global album sales currently at over 40 million copies, the musical is the most successful 'entertainment' ever. Will audiences warm to a sequel to a story that doesn't "need" one, as the original "Phantom" ends in a nearly perfect fashion. This new chapter also doesn't have the creative alchemy of Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, a casting gift that fueled "The Phantom of the Opera" during its early days of performance. All this lends itself for a truly "must watch" scenario as the "Phantom" and "Christine" continue their "strange duet."
2009 Highlight: Lloyd Webber reveals "LOVE NEVER DIES" to the world with a much discussed global press launch.
2010 Lineup: Andrew Lloyd Webber's long awaited new show will have its World Premiere in London at the Adelphi Theatre on Tuesday March, 9th, 2010 followed by New York on Thursday, November 11th, 2010. The "LOVE NEVER DIES" album was completed in September 2009 will be released on Wednesday, 10 March 2010, the day after the World Premiere in London. Also rumored is a Broadway revival of his award winning musical EVITA.
Emphasis added. Also, nice shoutout to MC and Sarah.

Well... it seems like the dreaded LND show logo mask is not being used in the show itself.
http://www.loveneverdies.com/blog/2009/12/02/archiving-the-mask/
Does that mean it's not meant to be the face of the love doll, then? Lol.

As this mask was actually created purely for the purposes of being photographed and won’t appear in the show it’s now been sent to our deep dark theatre archive where it will rest
Does that mean it's not meant to be the face of the love doll, then? Lol.

Oh my... Celia Graham is in it. I really liked her as Christine. I wonder what she is playing in this one.
Re: Love Never Dies - all views allowed
I loved her acting for the most, especially opposite JOJ, but I found her voice so whiny... Wonder what role she plays. I also saw Anette Yeo as Madame Giry ages ago, and rather liked her. Hmmm...Phantomlove wrote:Oh my... Celia Graham is in it. I really liked her as Christine. I wonder what she is playing in this one.
ETA: might offend some people (sorry in advance), and might be the most childish thing ever, but it felt good....
