Something is fishy about that forehead prosthetic. Mainly that its an exact copy of Broadway, yet the rest looks like crap. Though that could be the paint and application too. I seriously hope he's not charging more than $15 for those masks, considering the one on the FB page is just a painted version of a $5 Halloween grade mask:
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.173002162761319.43290.172986636096205&type=1

The mark up on that stuff is ridiculous. The only reasonably priced thing seems to be the Christine wig. Some lace fronts tend to go around $100-200.

Can someone please tell me why it costs $46 to ship a box full of makeup and some latex?

Otherwise, I do like the monkey music box.

That being said - I'm not sure how I feel about mass-marketing of basically knockoffs of Tucker/Bjornson designs for amateur productions. I mean, I know I can be rather critical of the production design and costuming of an amateur show, but I think that there's a risk of just perpetually copping out to Bjornson and Tucker if these kinds of products are offered. Hmm...

Aaaaargh, eBay has become almost useless for international buyers. So many sellers has started listing their items for UK or US shipping only. Seems like the choices one gets when listing an item has changes, because in the past it was maybe 70% international and 30% national, and now it is opposite. I doubt so many people has automatically changed their mind, it rather seems like a pre-choice in the system people don't bother change.

And unlike before, I cannot bid on these items and get it shipped to a friend, because my credit card is Norwegian. I'm automatically blocked from bidding. IT SUCKS!

I know many here is very helpful and offers to buy it on my behalf. But it means twice as much work, and it means that I cannot snatch good finds, I have to spend hours dealing with a co-buyer. I know I can also email the buyer and ask if they would still consider international shipping. But most don't even bother to answer. So in effect I'm almost blocked out of the whole eBay system, unless I get a UK or US credit card. Sucky, sucky eBay. Evil or Very Mad

Here's your Christmas gift, people!

http://www.ebay.de/itm/BARBIE-KEN-THE-PHANTOM-OF-THE-OPERA-OPER-GESCHENKSET-1998-20377-NRFB-/400251262603?pt=DE_allesfürsKind_spielzeug_puppen&hash=item5d30d5968b

The Phantom Barbie and Ken, still in the original box, seller accepts PayPal, worldwide shipping, current price EUR 219,50 (or "make an offer"). Not sure if the seller took them out to arrange the second picture, or if that is an elder stock picture. But the original box is at least included.

Seems pretty reasonable to me, considering that posters signed by the current cast are sold for $40 during the BCEFA fundraising. Or is it not a real signature?

I just scored a very silly thing on eBay: a jigsaw puzzle from the original Hamburg production, featuring Anna Maria Kaufmann in Hannibal. My main reason for buying it was for the big box it comes in, which might allow me to zoom in on the costume... But the price? ONE euro!! Very happy.

Ugh, I hate novel-length ebay listing descriptions.

That being said, I've actually heard of that scary doll island she's talking about before:
http://www.cracked.com/article_18830_the-6-creepiest-places-earth-part-2.html
(Note, some strong language humor on that site - plus creepy photographs from the island itself)

Still, it never ceases to amuse me how much stuff on ebay is sold as 'haunted' by spirits etc - and how many people buy into it. Quite the cottage industry. Rolling Eyes

Apart from the capital letters and million typos... Am I the only person finding it amusing that this person indirectly writes Butler, Rossum, Wilson, Richardson AND Driver "started" (starred?) as Carlotta?

Ha, I once photoshopped Gerik's head on a stage Carlotta's body. I don't remember why exactly...except it was in response to The Hidden Plot.

I don't mind admitting that I've had spooky experiences (and I think I've heard of that bizarre doll island at some point), but that was just one dizzying auction listing on so many levels.

I remember back when I used to be a fairly active seller on eBay and there was a big deal about some woman who had a ridiculously high minimum bid for a cheap, ugly watercolor of a generic landscape because it was haunted and gave her son nightmares. And a guy who was asking an even higher price for a bunch of antique medicine bottles which he claimed contained trapped souls.

Alas the picture print is rather blurry, I can't make out any details at all. Not on the box either. And it's super hard! So much black/dark areas, and on top of it being blurry. It took me ages just to find her eyes...

Yeah, pretty sure that's all it is.

Say, if I had Lisa Vroman autograph that bottle of vitamin water she gave me after one of her concerts because she couldn't bring it on the plane with her, do you think that would sell? Laughing

People actually collect those cancellation stamps. Sometimes it's a special cancellation stamp used for an event or issuing of a special stamp. I think there was a special cancellation stamp the day the US released their Elvis stamp.

POTO stuff on eBay - Page 14 Empty Minnie Driver Masquerade Dress for sale!

Post  Devon Sat Jan 07, 2012 10:05 am

Man oh man, I wish I had money at times like this...LOL

There's a seller on Ebay who's selling the original dress Minnie Driver (Carlotta) wore in the 2004 Phantom film. It comes with the COA...$5000.00 or make an offer I do believe.

Only problem is, they don't have a full body shot of the entire dress. However, they stated that they will provide more photos if requested. Only has one day and several hours left, check it out:

Wow! I can't believe the asking price of the book.

That got me thinking about Phantom related items though.
Just what are the average values on items now a day?

Like a genuine Phantom stage mask? I realize that what actor it came could have a bearing in price.
Or other prop items. I see notes come up a lot.
Or there's Christine's bouquet.
The wedding veil
Score - Not the Don Juan one, but an actual score of the whole show that a performer uses.
Costume items? Main characters vs ensemble(a la Masquerade or very simple items like 'stage hand' vests)

I see things on eBay etc and always wonder what's a fair price. Of course, to some fans things are priceless and are willing to pay well above what the actual dollar value is.

I've seen masks go for VERY high prices, in the thousands even. I actually won Christine's wedding bouquet this past summer and spent about $65 for it. So not bad....I got lucky, usually when I see items like this I'm flat broke...LOL
