Re: Rare pictures 1
I'm looking for pics of the Hannibal princess (the one who is always the Christine understudy).
Preferably US or Canadian versions only.

Re: Rare pictures 1
Thanks a bunch for that list, vmkwinner!
Brianne, I agree that it could have been Rebecca Spencer. I took a look at her site, and she reminded both in facial features and overall look. And what a cool Phantom career she's had...
ETA: a couple of West End pictures, I don't think too many of these has been online. Big thanks to the one who sent me the Karimloo/Benn-Harris/North brochure! Not all are from that one, but it made me dig out my camera to get some pics online.
1. Robyn North
2. Leila Benn-Harris
3. Leila Benn-Harris
4. Celia Graham and Hayley Driscoll
5. Gina Beck and David Shannon. I love how her lips and his eye overlaps.
6. Benjamin Lake
7. Ellen Jackson as confidante
8. Robyn North
9. Tabitha Webb (darn them for putting a picture over her gorgeous dress!)
10. Emma Harris?
11. Sorry, should have written down references before putting the brochures away... Heather Jackson, isn't it?
12. Leila Benn-Harris. I love how the current/newer London Christines pose into the wall when entering!

Yes, that's them and I have a bigger version from on of my brochures from the swedish production.
(I joined today so I hope I'll get this right! =) )
Here are some of the other pictures (in random order) I have from the swedish production, they are all big sized.
Tell me if you want more. I have scanned the whole programe. XD
Elisabeth Berg as Christine (she's just as beautiful as her voice is!).
Anette Stridh as Carlotta.
Elisabeth Berg & Mikael Samuelson.
There are many more, so tell me if you want me to send them!

Agreed, lovely big pictures from the Stockholm production! ChandelierCrystal, are you sure it's Jan Kyhle in the photo? It's definitely Inger Olsson Moberg, but I'm not able to tell Bengt Nordfors and the named Kyhle apart... Do the brochure say who it is? (PS - welcome to the forum!)
Came across this today:
More gorgeous pics in Gina Beck's official (?) Facebook site:

Gorgeous pictures! She's absolutely stunning! Thanks, Operafantomet!
Edit: Does anyone have pictures of: Tabitha Webb, Katie Hall and Sofia Escobar as Christine?

It is definately Jan Kyhle in the masquerade pic together with Inger Olsson Moberg. Bengt Nordfors and Jan Kyhle look quite different .

That's not Elisabeth Berg, it's Tua Åberg who alternated with Elisabeth as Christine for two years in Stockholm.
Re: Rare pictures 1
Berg, Åberg, Moberg, Malmberg... Granted, Christines from Sweden have been of extremely high quality (several of my favourites have been Swedish), but I'm amused by "all" of them having last names with "berg" in it.Phantomlove wrote:That's not Elisabeth Berg, it's Tua Åberg who alternated with Elisabeth as Christine for two years in Stockholm.ChandelierCrystal wrote:

Thanks for the clarification on the Nordfors/Kyhle thing. Do you have pictures to put side by side, so I could compare them? I think I've always mixed them up.

Operafantomet the Meg you said was Emma Harris (?) in the "Boy" costume, is in fact Lindsey Wise, just for your records if you're noting it down

Hello!
In this topic I've seen this Michael Crawford's photo from some book or brochure.
The same photo I found in this book, but it was subscribed that The Phantom is Mark Jacoby.
Here is the book's cover:
Have I misunderstood something or it's editor's mistake?
Thanks for reply in advance

Re: Rare pictures 1
Operafantomet: Yeah, I have also always thought that many of the Swedish Christines have Berg in some way or other in their surname is quite funny. However, don't forget Brochmann, Karlsson, Krantz and Bokor, not to mention the understudies .
ETA: Bengt Nordfors has blonde, slightly curly hair. Jan Kyhle has darker, straight hair. I don't seem to have any good side by side pics in this computer at the moment unfortunately. Though looking at the aforementioned pic it looks as if Jan's hair is also curly. Hm, I think I have to take a look in my programmes.

Hey operafantomet, do you still have that site about the danish version of the POTO?
And btw, thanks for the hannibal pix, I was dying to learn who Shan Cothi was.

I took a backup of it before Geocities went offline, but the only thing I currently have online is the picture gallery. Here:vmkwinner wrote:Hey operafantomet, do you still have that site about the danish version of the POTO?

Starryeyed, thanks a lot for the name of the Meg. I try to save each picture by who's in it, but I still lack lots of references.
I blame that on Brochmann being half Norwegian and Bokor half Hungarian.Operafantomet: Yeah, I have also always thought that many of the Swedish Christines have Berg in some way or other in their surname is quite funny. However, don't forget Brochmann, Karlsson, Krantz and Bokor (...).

What are some good editorial sites to get rare pics even if they're tagged. I know of gettyimages & topfoto. Is there anymore good ones?

Re: Rare pictures 1
It isn't Elisabeth Berg? Hmm... you have to educate me in the Swedish production, please! Send me a pm or something, I really want to know more.
I took an extra look at the picture with Inger Olsson Moberg and compared the Raoul's. And I once again got mixed up, sorry. It doesn't stand anything in the brochure (which is from the 6th year) but I compared them and Bengt Nordfros was still on the show as an understudy and Raoul's hair and chin looks like Bengt.
Here comes more pictures. They are VERY big... hope it's ok that they will take up pretty much the whole page? XD
Some of the pictures come from a two-paged picture so I'll send them and the close ups. For some reason I didn't scan the two-paged Hannibal scene... but I'll probably scan some drawings later today so I can take that one too. Ok, as I said... most of the coming pictures are huge!
Operafantomet, I'll scan some headshots of Jan Khyle and Bengt Nordfors so we can compare.
From the 1994 brochure.
From left to right: Bengt Nordfors, Per Engström (conductor), Elisabeth Berg (I can clearly see the difference now, thank you!), Harold Prince, Mikael Samuelson and Anette Stridh.
From left to right: Hans Dornbusch (Piangi), Bengt-Åke Varg (Firmin), I think it is Jan Kyhle - please compare! (Raoul), Anette Stridh (Carlotta), Annika Bartler (Madame Giry), Magnus Fagerberg (André) and Linda Motta (Meg). Many of the original cast stayed with th show till the end!
(More from the 1994 brochure. Mikael Samuelson and Johanne Brochmann (?)) (By the way... I love the boat in the background...)
*
Here are more from the brochure from 1989-1990, the original cast.
Annika Bartler (or her understudy Lillemor Höglund)
I leave it to you to state who the Christine is, but Meg is played by Martina Langas (or her understudy Christina Olsson)
I know this isn't so rare, but it's high quality! Mikael Samuelson and I am sure that it is Elisabeth Berg, because everytime I see it stand "Mikael Samuelson & Elisabeth Berg" beneath it.
Mikael Samuelson, Fina Lair.
I think it is Tua Åberg. And Mikael Samuelson ofc! ^^
Elisabeth Berg?
The Christine is impossible to state but it is absolutley Mikael.
This picture is also quiet common, but in much better quality! Elisabeth Berg and you can see the Phantom in the background.
Mikael Samuelson.
The Swedish candelier. XD
Bengt Nordfors as Raoul, no doubt about it! And Elisabeth Berg.
Mikael Samuelson and... sigh... help!
Mikael. I love that phote, it's gorgeous!
The following pictures are two-paged so I will send them and you can just stick them together.
(Christine and Raoul- Elisabeth Berg & Bengt Nordfors)
Christine on the big picture is Elisabeth Berg. The Phantom is Mikale as usual.
And that's all ladies and gentlemens, hope you liked it!
If someone have pictures of Ramin Karimloo as either the Phantom or Raoul I'd be very happy if you sent them.

No, the Christine in that pic definately looks like Tua I think.
The Raoul dancing with Inger in the masquerade pic is definately Jan Kyhle.

Re: Rare pictures 1
Samuelson, physically at least, looks like a great Phantom. Would have loved to have seen him. The Red Death mask in that small inset, though, looks very facial, with a nose and lips and less sunk-in eyes. Maybe it's just the pixelization making it seem that way.
Re: Rare pictures 1
I know you're not fond of listening to Phantom in other languages than English, but the Swedish cast album, and Mikael Samuelson in particular, is utterly fantastic. I think you'll love him. From the very few video clips I've seen of his performance I rate him as one of the great Phantoms.SenorSwanky wrote:Samuelson, physically at least, looks like a great Phantom. Re: Rare pictures 1
Hey Phantomlove, I've been studying this picture several times in the past. I think it's in fact the same dress as Mia Karlsson wore in Copenhagen. There have been changes for sure; the white upper lace on the cuffs have been removed, and the front panel wasn't as dark in Copenhagen. But look at the shape of the front ("stomacher") and the neck opening. Look at those embroidered peach flowers in front. Look at the golden/black fabric in front skirt and at the cuffs. Look at the rounded shape of the black embroidery. Yes, I do indeed think it's the same dress, or at least a remodeled version of it.ChandelierCrystal wrote:

Callie Daae, have you tried Wireimage? I've seen a lot of World Tour photos with that logo.
Re: Rare pictures 1
Unfortunately on WireImage it won't let me view the pics in larger sizes.
