Re: Rare pictures 1
Glad to help. This isn't all, though! I dug out those who 1. I adore and/or 2. seemed rare. Posting all of them would be a full days work.ML6 wrote:I was the one who coaxed her to bring out all her OLC photos. I'm looking for some high quality stuff of the OLC.
Re: Rare pictures 1
I'm after anything OLC related. One day, I hope to make a site dedicated to the OLC. I think that it needs to be preserved more nicely.

Yes, please!!!
I love seeing any OLC pics...it brings me back to my earliest Phantom obsession when I decorated my locker and binders with photocopied pictures from the first London/Broadway casts.

It's gonna happen! I found so many amazing old-school articles of the OLC cast. I might start it out on Tumblr. My website skills are a little rusty.

Weeeeell , who'd a thunk it? Organizing my files into scenes was actually an insanely bad idea because now I have no idea which ones I scanned in and which ones I saved from before (some might even be from Broadway), so bear with me guys:
So Photobucket did some size massacring. Let me know if there's something you'd want a larger version of.

I love this picture. It reminds me of a painting. It's so innocent and cute.

Viscountess, which book does that picture come from? I don't recognise it. I'm not sure I've even scene that picture of the Managers scene before.
ML6, that's a very nice idea for a website. I could probably dig up some OLC- and OBC-related articles for it.

I know, right? Anyone is welcome to assist and help out. I think I'm going to start it out on Tumblr first. All pictures, articles, quotes, etc. are welcome.

I've seen that picture so many times, but now that you mention it, it does look like a painting. I could easily imagine it in a pretty frame on a wall.

Apparently on Clive Barda's site, you can purchase his prints. I was thinking about purchasing this one later on in life. It'd cost an arm and a leg, but it'd be so worth it.

Re: Rare pictures 1
I have an amazing treat for you all. Long time ago, I begged for my mother to purchase this book called "Song and Dance: The Musicals of Broadway" by Ted Sennett. It has a page or so of information regarding some 'famous' musicals. And, I swore the book had a Music of the Night picture with Crawford and Brightman that I have never seen before.
With my dying camera I was able to quickly snap a shot. If it IS a picture that nobody has seen before, and it is Brightman and Crawford, I will be more than happy to scan it to give it better quality.
So, here it is:
I'm 100% sure that it is Crawford, but that does not look like Brightman. But it might just because her eyes are closed?

Really? Wow.
That's really upsetting. The guy does a really good job of getting the original cast images for the book. It's a shame he f*d this one up.

ML6, I'm sure I have some rare/uncommon OLC photos. In fact, I sheepishly wonder if I don't have every single photo of Crawford/Brightman ever taken...
Ahem. If you'd like some photos for your website (which I think is the coolest idea ever; I even started something similar myself), I'd be more than happy to provide some. In fact heck, since we're on an OLC binge, are there any scenes anyone wants photos from? (Cos it'd take ages to scan everything in, and I'm too lazy).
EDIT: That photo is definitely Karen Culliver. How shitty, to muck that up! It's so obvious it's NOT Crawford and Brightman. Although it is a lovely photo. If you feel like scanning it in properly, I for one would love it!

Girl, what were you creating? I'd love to see. Perhaps we could take off on that? Though people like the new images, I actually prefer the older ones because they reminded me more like paintings or scenes from an old film. I think that was Clive Barda's attempt - the artistic, the better.
I WANT SOME STEVE!SARAH action! *cough*
And yes, I am highly thinking about writing to that guy about his little blurb and f*ck up. Because that's false information.

Well, since I have almost no knowledge on website-making, it was just some stuff thrown together on my computer. It was an outline of what I would put on a website, if I was clever enough. I called it 'Strange Temptation', after some original Sydmonton lyrics ("Angel of Music, strange sensation, tempting my heart..."). I had some blurbs on each cast member and what I loved about their interpretation of their character, a comparison page for changes in lyrics between the Original London, later London and cast recording versions, a photo gallery...and some other stuff.
Sigh. It still breaks my heart to think of how they were intending to make the movie with (some of) the OLC, and it never materialized. Can you imagine the haunted, 'Gothic' feast it would have been?

Oh lady, that sounds like an excellent site. I have no life this summer, so I am going to start making a mock up on my computer. But I say this again: If anyone wants to help out, feel free to. The more pictures, the better. I just want a place wher epeople can go to and feel happy and better without the movie and the sequel cramping the style of the original.
I'll mention about this briefly - I found an audio interview with Steve Barton when he was playing Raoul on Broadway. They mentioned the film, and they alluded at the fact that Steve would have been part of the film. Crazy. I've heard rumors, but this is the fartest I've ever seen where all three leads were to be casted for their roles.
So yeah, MORE OLC pictures please and thank you! <3 <3 <3

Wow. Just...wow. That makes me even more heartbroken...

Sarah/Steve action? Coming right up... (if Photobucket stops being an ass...)

Ok! Sorry for the double post...the screencaps are all from legit videos, I promise. I tried to find some 'rarer' photos (those not normally seen as often). SB & SB love:

Re: Rare pictures 1
Interesting artwork from a review of POTO in Copenhagen in January 2009:
As you can see, it's not a specific scene but rather the essence of POTO, a bit like the original Heindel artworks. The Phantom is Flemming Enevold (and very recognizable too) in PONR cloak, Christine is Mia Karlsson (more generic) in WYWSHA cloak, and the background is partly red drapes and partly travelator.
I love the unfinished style of the cloaks.

Re: Rare pictures 1
Does anyone have or have they seen a picture of James Graeme as the Phantom? i did see one once it was taken in his dressing room i think, this was about 11 or so years ago though. Its the only pic i've ever seen of him in costume.

I remember having a photocopy of that picture (only full-length) in my high school locker.
More Michael and Sarah...found this on an old flash drive I was clearing out.
Still more Michael and Sarah...though this one may be from Broadway because I remember when Sarah Ferguson visited the show and I'm pretty sure it was on a visit to NYC. I remember a large black & white version of this picture in People Magazine. I photocopied it, cut out Sarah (and ALW) and pasted it onto my binder.
Re: Rare pictures 1
Whoa, check out Fergie's hair!
I've got quite a few of the cast meeting Diana and Nancy Raegan and even Thatcher. I'll have to upload them. LOL, ALW is such a Tory boy...

Yup, you can see Nick Wyman and Chris Gronendhall peeking in at the sides (Fermin and Andre)
