littlelotty, Justin is right, some of the filenames have the actresses in them.

The 5th one is Susanne Duwe, the 6th is Irasema Terrazas (I always thought it was Meredith Braun!) and the 1st one might be Ute Baum, but don't hold me to that.

I can tell that the Christine is Jill Washington, but is the Phantom Martin Smith? The pics are from the Oct. 1989 brochure from West End, with Martin Smith, Jill Washington (alt. Irén Bartók) and Robert Meadmore.

Compared to the previous brochure (Apr. 1989, with Dave Willetts, Jan Hartley-Morris (Jill Washington) and Michael Cormick), these photos are brand new. So I assume they show Martin Smith?

the first one is definately Smith, there was alot of depate over the second one being WIlletts or Smith, It is used in the Willetts 1990 brochure with Jill Washington aswell and reminds me of willetts and has that strange looking mask that willetts used at times in London, where it curved up sharply over the forehead (you can see it in the video of the make-up creation that was in the London Theatre Museum).

Its odd that they would use a new Willetts mirror photo for the 1990 brochure then still use this one (if it is Smith) as the MOTN photo, but it seems that is what they did.

Does anyone know what the cause of Smith's sad premature death was for certain? At the time the press were reporting AIDS, but IIRC Christine Daaé's fanzine said it was something lung-related.

Don't think I've seen these before (though I've seen variants of the rooftop-in-Wishing-costume ones). Lovely, especially the Hannibal picture quoted above!

Speaking of which, I did email Maria Kesselman to ask her about the dance routine. Sarah Brightman danced all of "Hannibal" when the show opened in London, and I've always been curious on whether her alternate and understudy did as well. Don't know about alternate Claire Moore, but Kesselman confirmed she as understudy did dance the whole thing, as Brightman did. Not surprising, since she's a trained classical ballet dancer, but it's nice to get it confirmed.

She did dance through the whole hannibal scene. I emailed her. She said that although she did the whole dance, she wasn't always on pointe.

OK, interesting. They didn't update the brochures in the same way as today; sometimes only the middle part would have new pics, and I think that is the case with the Smith/Washington brochure. There's lots of Christine pictures in the updated part, oddly enough, and only that MOTN pic of the Phantom. But various pics in the front and back shows other Phantoms, and I guess the large mirror one can might as well be of Willetts.

vmkwinner, interesting about Claire Moore and the dancing! I wonder when they stopped doing the whole routine. After Claire Moore left in 1989?

They're showing up now. I wonder if the second Old Raoul pic was later on, because he's now wearing glasses and a slightly shorter beard. They might have changed the look for Old Raoul after a little tinkering, or maybe when it transferred to Broadway.

I've posted this on older message boards but am reposting here because I've always loved it. This is Davis Gaines in his dressing room during the LA run that I scanned in from a book. I had to dig it out because it's a great ref for the Phantom's shoes - which at least at this early point, were lace-up and not the plain slide on type I've heard they are today.

I was wondering if there were any pictures in existance of Inneke van Klinken? She was alternate Christine in Antwerp around 2000.

I was also wondering if anyone could clarify that Sophie Kiddle was definitely Meg, or list any other Megs who played at that time?

Was there ever a program released with Inneke in it? Thanks guys!

As far as I can recall, Sophie Kiddle was indeed the premiere cast Meg for Antwerp.

And I'm pretty sure I've got at least one picture of Ineke as Christine, but my hard drive is still in disarray from being repaired so it might take me some time to find it. Sad

I'll try later on today after I've had some sleep.

Is that the program that had pictures from all different international productions? And headshots of Sandra Joseph and Rebecca Pitcher? If so, I have some photos scanned in from that program...I'll see about posting them today, but I'm going to QLD for the weekend so.....it's a maybe.
