Re: YouTube clips
johnvskillian has moved their challenges to youtube.
If you haven't seen this, you gotta watch it. It's one of the funniest ones they've done, yet. Phantom Twister. In costume.

Hahahaha! Whoever is editing is doing a great job. But even more so I love those two guys. What a sense of humour. What a way to please their audience!
Re: YouTube clips
John said on his Twitter feed that Killian was doing the editing. They really are hysterical. This last one really was a great one.

Not YouTube, but posting it here anyway...

Probably would've been great if I could've seen them for more than a split second between the screen scrambling like the Playboy Channel. Speaking of which, that second video below the Phantom piece is interesting.
Re: YouTube clips
Does anyone have the youtube link to the video where M.Firmin was pranked at HMT by someone playing the Entr'acte on their ipod? I've been trying to find it to show someone but I cant seem to.

I found this video of Michael Ball and Lesley Garrett singing the title song:
Why has he not played the Phantom yet?

Re: YouTube clips
Seriously. I love how he does the Colm Wilkinson-inspired "yes" thing during the cadenza instead of the oft-repeated "sing" commands. Really plays up the intent of that bit, which is a musical orgasm.
This was a number of years ago, and I've noticed he's not quite as vocally dexterous as he once was, a little huskier, but I think he's at the right place age-wise and gravitas/acting-wise now, so I'd love to see him do the role.

I recently got hold of the B-roll footage of the Viennese production, and I decided to post this.
I believe these were used in the documentary.

Re: YouTube clips
I think parts of this was used in the documentary, but they didn't have the whole Masquerade. They also featured clips from Hannibal, Little Lotte and a few other scenes. Plus, they show Red Death when he comes down the trap door, from the underside. He's loosing his hat and looks all bald, and his giving the camera thumbs up. Quite a sight!
Thank you for sharing this video! The Viennese orchestra is so rich sounding. Anyone noticed how little Luzia Nistler danced? Especially towards the end, where she's merely standing at the side. Doesn't seem like the Man/Woman with cloak gets to scare her either. I think the other Viennese Christines did it differently, but maybe my memory is tricking me.

I have a later video with her and she dances normally there.
Also, instead of scaring Christine, the Man/Woman covers her with his/her cape and "flips" Christine to the wings, and she returns from the other side of the stage.
I'm posting the Overture next, you can see how the chandelier goes up in the middle of the dome.

original Japanese phantom, I've always wanted to see a pic of him (and know for sure it was him) he has the most 'normal' looking of masks (if you've seen Japan photos you would know what I mean)

Re: YouTube clips
Aaaah, Masachica Ichimura. His voice really reminds of Michael Crawford at times. I've seen several comment on it, but I tend to forget it until I hear him anew. His "beeee" wasn't the best here, but the ending was mighty cool in all its cheesiness.justin-from-barbados wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTKZtd67Qlo&feature=g-vrec&context=G271f00aRVAAAAAAAACw

Totally agree about the Japanese masks. The current ones reminds of the Essen ones. Not a compliment, I assure you. In fact, I think that goes for the design in Japan in general. The new Japanese costumes looks really.... blah. Maybe not on stage, but definitely in pictures. Copying the US costumes would have been a good idea if they actually copied them. What they're doing now is more a gentle imitation, but without the details making the US ones really cool. The original costumes looked a lot more tailored and impressive.
Re: YouTube clips
Speaking of Masachica Ichimura, here's the Final Lair with him that was broadcast in Japanese TV.. it's hilarious!

Re: YouTube clips
Hahaha, that's two solid mishaps! Nicely covered over by the Phantom, though. The first one almost looked like it was supposed to be like that - that is, if I wasn't familiar with the show, I wouldn't question it a second. But that other one was a bit iffier.
Re: YouTube clips
with it happened with Howard they had to wait for the traps to close a while before they could come back on, so he moaned and groaned like he was strugglihg to drag christine out of the boat, I thought it hilarious but I dont think anyone around noticed.
I also wish I could find it but there was a Japan vid of Jun Sawaki and in his "go now and leave me" it looked like he was having a seizure, i thought it very comical.

That's pretty cool. I'm sure Anea will appreciate it for all the detail on the costumes.
Was the stage manager asleep in that Japanese flub clip?

I love that Pieter Toerinen is so passionate about the show. I think that if the über boss is so passionate about the show, it'll influence those under him. He produced it last time around as well, and has seen it some 50-60 times. I'm sure he's the sole force of it returning to South Africa.justin-from-barbados wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEPPaKzh-Fc&feature=g-all-u&context=G25cd7f6FAAAAAAAAAAA

I wanna say "ditto" for the return of the Danish production. The theatre director Niels Bo Valbro loves Phantom, and claims to have seen it some 200 times!
