I'm loving the great pictures of Meg's Gypsy dress. If I could sew better than just (barely) fixing loose buttons, that's the costume I'd want to recreate.

On a related note, for anyone who is friends with Kimilee on Facebook, she has a couple of pictures in costume as a very stunning Madame Giry...including one that really shows off the beaded cape-lette added for Masquerade.

Those are wonderful pictures of Paloma. I did a little gasp when I saw them too.

It's interesting to see such nice detailed shots of the materials. Although I do like your gloves and the brocade you're planning on using, Mandy, better than the ones in this particular version of Meg's Masquerade outfit. However, I do love the hat in the photos with the pink lace and the pink vest part is cute too.

It looks like they go either way with the upper bodice (Angel chestplate or the one Paloma has) for Meg regardless of being principal or understudy. Or perhaps she's wearing the costume from when she was u/s? Not a biggie, just curious if there was actually a method to the madness.

From what I've seen, only in some productions do Carlotta kneel before she turns around for the final Hannibal pose. When she does, she has to turn around on the floor, kneeling, and it isn't necessarily easy in that grand skirt... I know they do it like that in the US, though, so I guess your picture material will be easiest found there. Japan also do it that way.

On the other hand, one would think finding such pictures of Christine would be easy, as her pose is repeated in all the worldwide production... But no! I've actually only found ONE picture of it, and it doesn't even show the skirt. Maybe they all look too enthusiastic, he-he.

There's also a couple of Carlotta sitting on the stool, if that helps?

Deborah Dutcher looking veeery enthusiastic. This is when she's just kneeled after "Think of Me", you can see how the skirt balloons up around her. From what I've seen in the "Angel of Music" scenes, the European skirts tend to be stiffer, standing by themselves even when not worn. The US equivalent looks softer and collapse, which probably means they "folds" better in the TOM final pose.

From Japan, I have no idea on the cast or year. But, judging from the costume, it isn't recent. The last couple of years the Japanese costumes has started copying the US ones, and that is not the case in this picture.
