I just contacted Dewynters and they said that the have made a new London brochure. I don't remember when, but I think they said that it should be in the theatre in a matter of weeks (I think they might of even said a week).

Really? But would they not be doing another brochure in a couple of months when Earl joins the cast? How long ago was the last cast change?

I don't think it was that long ago when Killian joined, but the brochure should be here soon, I wonder what the cover will be like?

Re: Souvenir brochures
Yeah! My order from the Dress Circle came today with the 25th RAH POTO and the current London brochure..
The London brochure is one I don't have, so Yippie! And it's in perfect condition
..only...
*sniffle* Only thing is though the package had been opened while in the Royal Mail's hands and someone took the 25th anniversary brochure, left the London brochure, sealed it up in a plastic bag with the Royal Mail's logo on it and a 'sorry your order was tampered with' note.
So, I STILL don't have the 25th brochure, which I was looking forward to *cries*
I emailed dress circle to see if there's anything they can do, and I'm printing out a claims form with the Royal Mail to see if they can do anything (and I highly doubt that though)
This really is the end to a 'perfect' week.

Re: Souvenir brochures
That's very disappointing having your mail opened and a brochure missing. Hope it can somehow be sorted out.

Re: Souvenir brochures
I'm thinking since both Raoul, the Christine alternate and a couple of the supporting/minor roles are new, they decided a new one was in order. But I hope they'll make a new one for Earl Carpenter's run as well... "She who has much wants more", ya know. But if Carpenter is the only new one in that cast, I won't hold my breath.London-Phan wrote:thephanfullerton wrote:Hey guys,

PhantomsGhost, I'm so sorry for your tampered package! I would have been so disappointed. Surely Royal Mail is the one to replace your item? I mean, if they've labeled it with tampered and all? I X my fingers...
Re: Souvenir brochures
@Phantomsghost- I'm so sorry about your program. I do hope you get the other one in the mail!
Here is the 2010 London program on Ebay right now and they ship to the United States as well, thought I would share this with everyone:

I wonder if you, Devon, might know if this picture featured in the Vancouver brochure:

Thank you!
Also, does anyone know where to watch the documentary about PK in the Vancouver production?

You know, I'm not sure. Actually I don't have this one (thought I did...think it's the only one I don't have in my collection of Canadian brochures) I do know that Operafantomet has it though and this is the information I found off her site (no pics though but you could always ask her!):
1997 - Peter Karrie - Teresa de Zarn (Elizabeth Southard) - Kip Wilborn (Ford Centre, Vancouver)
Re: Souvenir brochures
Yes, that picture is in the Vancouver brochure. I'd recognize that baggy dressing gown anywhere... Here are more pictures from the Vancouver brochure (though some of these are cropped to feature one costume only):

(but I seem to remember this showed up in Toronto brochures as well?)
There's also a couple of ensemble scenes and some more lead role shots. I will do my best to make some decent scans, but I will give no promises....

Thanks for helping out! I didn't have the brochure so couldn't get any scanned. But now seeing those pics I WISH I had that brochure, the pictures look lovely! Well...except for the baggy dressing gown...haha!
Re: Souvenir brochures
Thanks operafantomnet!
Devon, you could always buy the one with the plushie toy!-(and the crazy price)
I've just made more scans of my 1993 Manchester brochure by the way. But it is difficult because I can only scan A4, so for a double page pic , they both have to be done separately, and I cant stick them together! Its a shame because there is a really nice double spread of the lair shot, and one of Ankara giving McKerracher his mask. I'll have a go!

hahaha, no way! I'm not going to spend that much (that and I don't collect beanie babies...lol)
Looking forward to those 1993 Manchester scans! :-)
Re: Souvenir brochures
Got the Royal Albert Hall brochure today. THANK you, Scorp!
In general... Nice brochure. Nice, big, glossy, and in some ways incredibly informative. In other ways... A bit meeh.
THE GOOD:
*Large, glossy and with bound back (I.E. not stapled).
*Many, many, many pages.
*Cool to see glimpse of Phantom history gathered into one "book".
*That BjĆørnson's set/technical sketches is used as graphics in the background throughout the brochure.
*Very cool to read the thoughts of the leads on how it felt to be asked to do the role.
*Full cast and crew list, and bios on the leads at RAH.
*Full scene list.
*Full cast list on the original London cast.
*Pictures of the original London cast.
*Many, many lovely costume sketches by Maria BjĆørnson.
*VERY interesting, albeit small, article by Michael Lee, archivist at the BjĆørnson archive. Some interesting facts!
*Some of the new designs for the RAH sets. Cool to see the general ideas.
*"Most performances as the Phantom" (wish they had similar for Christines and Raouls, though).
*Picture of promo material from around the world.
*London posters from the last 25 years (though not all).
*Full list of all official CDs and singles, and most covers. Impressive.
*Full list of where POTO has played*, and awards it's gotten.
THE BAD:
*The non-stapled back is falling apart already... I got the brochure TODAY.
*The note from the Phantom in the opening. Really? Apparently the RAH concert was something the Phantom commanded his managers ALW and Mackintosh to do. And the changes are per the Phantom's instructions. Yeah.
*The 2004 movie. Unavoidable, I know. But...
*Love Never Dies commercial, for the forthcoming DVD. The POTO-LND linking still bugs me.
THE UGLY:
*The words by ALW. Especially "I shudder to think what would have happened if the Net had been around with its malicious and often fake or professional bloggers". Oh LOOOOORD. These "malicious and often fake or professional bloggers" has been around for all of ALW's new projects. Only one has been butchered. By bloggers AND by professional, long-term, respected reviewers in papers on three continents. It can't be dismissed as fake. Simple as that.
So yeah... lots of candy for us phans, but like the concert not the perfect and definitive product. If I was put in charge, I would probably do many of the same things as done. But I would also try and gather more fun facts - like that usher on Broadway who's worked at the Majestic since POTO opened, imagine the stories she could tell. Or that musician in West End who's been in the show for 25 years, or Per Engstrƶm who's conducted two productions and 1600 performances between 1989-2009. Imagine a collage of the iconic MOTN pose from all countries where POTO has played. And actually also more about Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman, who originated the roles AND played them in two iconic productions. Though I appreciate the list of longest running Phantoms, and the awards and CDs, I wish they would have dug a little deeper. Come up with more fun facts, maybe even more academic texts on the Phantom phenomenon, more about Leroux, more about Palais Garnier. Just... doing more that scratching the surface.
But in general, cool brochure. Grab it! I will make lots of scans as soon as I have the time. I am very offended by all of you who owns it and HASN'T made scans, just so you know! There's a lot in it which deserves the public eye.
*Phantom in Hungary is listed with no less than 15 productions/cities - and only the Budapest one is listed as non-replica!?!?? Enlighten me...

Can I tell you something? BOTH brochures I ordered from Dress Circle, their envelopes were ripping open. It was pretty shoddy packaging.

Re: Souvenir brochures
No, the packaging was good. It's just that the glue they've used in the back started to crumble... or rather just let go of the pages, after I looked through it a couple of times. It usually happens with brochures with a blued back, but after a couple of years, not with a stellar new brochure.Scorp wrote:Oh no! Is that the BBC "Karrie on Phantom" special? Yeah, I've seen that one, too. I'm surprised it's not on the 'tube already.

Re: Souvenir brochures
Yes, NTSC VHS. I have plenty of... things... that I would like to digitize, but the required materials to do so aren't high on my priority list at the moment.
