Halloween 2011
So what is everyone being for Halloween? This was the first year I'd had the chance to dress up since 2006. That year and 2005, I was the Phantom, but this year, I chose to go back to my other standard, Gene Simmons of KISS. Here's an album of pics I took on my phone at about 3 AM after I got back from a party last Saturday night:

It took me an hour and a half or so to put on the makeup and suit. I had eaten a few pieces of pizza and drunk four or five beers by this point, and worn my glasses to drive, so some of the makeup had rubbed off.
I was almost going to be Zeke the Plumber from Salute Your Shorts. Would've been much easier and less time-consuming to get into and out of that costume. But it also would have required buying like $100 worth of stuff. I own no lumberjack shirts, overalls, etc. Maybe next year.

I'm wearing my SCA "maternity garb" and going as a generic princess/Carnivale reveler/fancy-dress...thing. Eric got a cute hand-me-down dragon costume from one of his many great-aunts that he's finally big enough for, so he'll be wearing that this year.

My Halloween plans are pretty bleak. Sitting at home, dressed as a broke college student, probably doing homework and handing out candy to all of the five kids in our neighborhood. Or I might go hand out candy at our new house just so I feel like I'm doing something.

Re: Halloween 2011
I haven't dressed up for Halloween since college.
This year, however, a few weeks ago I was cleaning out a jewelry box and found my old nametag from when I was a cashier at the Nebraska Bookstore near the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I figured I'd just wear my nametag at work on Monday. Stupid, I know, but after today's bombshell news, I need to start doing amusing things to keep my spirits up.
Normally, on Halloween, husband and I never have any trick-or-treaters come around, so we always like to turn off all the lights, and watch a scary movie or two, drink a little wine, and maybe eat some popcorn. I'm really looking forward to this this year, even moreso than usual

Not dressing up for Halloween, but I have a comic convention this weekend. I'm dressing up as David Bowie from Labyrinth.
Jareth the Goblin King
Was playing around with makeup the other day, almost got the look right. Missing a few essential eyeshadows and what not.

Which convention?
I didn't dress up for Halloween this year, I'm also saving my Phantoming for a convention this weekend. A pirate did walk by my office, though.

An anime convention. Youmacon in Michigan. First time going, excited.
