Re: Merchandise suggestions
I wrote to the Argentine production and asked if they would consider another shipping method (at my own risk). Fedex prices were just too much, seriously. But at the same time I'd still like those items... Hope to hear back from them.

Let me know if they come up with anything reasonable re shipping. The prices you were quoting earlier sound ridiculous -- I've ordered from Playbill Australia before to get Aussie merchandise and the shipping didn't cost nearly as much!
Re: Merchandise suggestions
Got a new quote for the Argentine shipping: $140. Say what? I want the brochure and laptop bag badly, but there's no way I can justify spending such an amount on such a silly thing as posh door-to-door shipping. I asked if normal postage was an option, at my own risk, but they said no. They have been very helpful, though, so not hard feelings.
But as for merchandise I want: Christmas tree decorations shaped as the POTO chandelier!

That would be a fun craft project. There's some good stores with nice beads and findings.

The smell of death, anyone?
I had the women's perfume, and probably still do though since it's also quite vintage I wouldn't wear it! In fact, I think mine is about 17 years old too! I do love the bottle though, shaped like a black vase with a rose stopper. Very pretty! I wore it for special occasions when I was younger. My mom gave it to me for Christmas, and she jokes she hoped it didn't smell like musty old cellars.

Re: Merchandise suggestions
I still have the perfume, too...well, I doubt there is anything left in the bottle because I wore it a lot.
I refuse to throw the bottle out because it's just so pretty...and I can remember when I got it. The local Macy's was the only place that sold it and, well, in the early stages of my Phantom obsession, I HAD TO HAVE IT. To tie in with the perfume, they had six video screens set up playing the old promo video for MOTN over and over...and whenever I went shopping with my aunt, I would stop to watch the video over and over.

I also have the perfume. Whenever I sense it I'm like transported back to when I was sixteen in 1991 and bought it.

Depends on what kind of sweet sixteen memories Josefine has.Scorp wrote:So it's not the smell of death then? Disappointing!
Re: Merchandise suggestions
I remember when the first UK tour kicked off in Manchester and there were two sculptures for sale by a company called 'Connosseur Of Malvern' (my spelling is atrocious), one called 'The Mask And The Rose' and another featuring the Phantom and Christine in MON pose. I loved them. Also for sale were the Heindel prints and a watch with tiny white flecks which could be formed into the shape of the mask logo.

Re: Merchandise suggestions
In the past, to get the (then) current brochure, I wrote directly to Shiki. They were very helpful, and I paid the brochure + shipping with my credit card. Don't know if they're able to do the same with souvenirs, but it's worth a shot?
My general feeling on Phantom souvenirs is that they should make useful, up-to-date items - stuff people can use in their daily life and feel cool when using (he-he). I mean, a portable thermos cup, a laptop bag, laptop skin case, note books, calendars... Give it to me, baby! I do like the newer t-shirts and stuff in West End and Broadway, but I don't think the souvenirs are very creative... It's for the die-hard fans more than the general audience. (I mean that. My father would never buy a t-shirt or decorative music box, whereas he's love the thermos cup)

Wow, thanks for posting that link!
OK, potentially silly question: what is that in the bottom left corner? Is it a photo frame or something? And if it is, what's the object on the left and how does that fit in with the whole thing? This is what I mean:
Oh, re: the chocolates, I assume it's this thing?
Ah...Japan has always been one of the better productions for merchandise. Maybe the fact that they come out with the limited 5,000 performance range is enough to persuade the powers-that-be in London to do something similar to commemorate either the 25th anniversary or the 10,000th performance, both of which are not *too* far away... (the 25th anniversary will come first, though, if I've just calculated that correctly)?
Re: Merchandise suggestions
The former picture seems to show the front and back side of what looks like a frame - maybe a magnet frame for the fridge? Picture album?
