My limited edition Phantom mask, my brochures and programmes. All parts of my collection is important to me, including books and CD's. If there was a fire, I'm not sure what to grab first!

Without being boastful I've far too many treasured PotO items to mention as I've been collecting for years, but I'm very fond of my M. Firmin's walking cane from the film, my Phantom oil paintings and my Phantom bedside lamp.

Well, at the very top of my list is my leather jacket with Hugh's autograph from his final performance as The Phantom (it's since been scribbled on by him a few more times...including a note about cookies in Seattle and a cute "heart full of love" for Les Miz).

The other two that come to mind first are a green quill pen from STYDI and a white shirt worn by Mark Jacoby as The Phantom and signed by the entire 1991 cast

I'd most likely die in the fire since I wouldn't be able to choose what to grab and run out with. Letters from Phantom cast members? Don Juan apple? Lisa Vroman windowcard? Autographed souvenir programmes? See? I'm toast.

Mine would be the hand-made wooden music box with an inlaid rose. It plays MoTN, and was made for me by a very talented friend who knew I was a phan. With enough money I could re-purchase everything else I have from phandom, but not this piece.

If I could pick just one item it would most likely be my Hannibal Slave Girl costume.
Had to edit this a bit after receiving some new items.

Christine's wedding veil from one of the productions.

A Phantom mask in mint condition.

Fabric samples from Christine's and Meg's Vegas costumes.

Those would be my top items. If there was more time then...

A stage used Vegas Phantom deformity - Even if that thing in its zip-lock bag probably qualifies as a bio-hazard.

Photos from backstage.

Full Toronto script & Vancouver Scripts.

and...

Shoot. I'll just join the others in the 'toast' category.

My Red Death hat feather from Brad Little, my autographed poster from Bruce Winant, my autographed Playbill from Trista Moldovan, and another couple of things that I acquired recently and am not entirely sure if I'm allowed to tell people about or not. I have a lot of other great things, but the most special ones by far are the gifts I've received from cast members.

Like several of you, I might not reach the door in time, because of my desire to save objects rather than myself... scratch

There are many objects that means a lot to me, but the highlights would be the Hamburg Wishing gown (AKA "The love of my life"), a signed Danish libretto, plus the souvenir brochures. And the costumes I've made, I'm very fond of them too. And my MacBook, where so much info is stored!

Likewise for me it would be my dog Lola, me, my family, my computer, but then it would be my lovely big monkey music box from RUG with the handcrank, my lovely photographs of Peter Karrie some in his phantom costume and quite a few that I've had taken with him over the years which you can never replace. I've also got the Phantom and Christine Franklin Mint ornament that plays Music Of The Night, the plate and I think it's a little jewellery box that is also musical. Non phantom things would be my photograph albums of my pets and family and friends over the years that again are irreplacable. But I'm not that bothered about books, televisions and stuff like that though.

Best wishes,
Catherine.

I wouldn't literally grab anything Phantom-related if my house were burning down. As much as I'd hate to lose any of my stuff, there are some things more personal that I'd actually probably try to save if I had time. Laughing

I don't actually have too many Phantom things. I have a signed souvenir brochure from my first time seeing the show, signed by Thomas James O'Leary. I have a Playbill from my first and only time (so far, hopefully) seeing it on Broadway signed by Stephen Buntrock, who was on as the Phantom that night (and did I get it signed by David Gaschen, who I had a very funny short conversation with? I honestly can't remember if I asked him to sign it). I also have a replica mask made out of the mold for Simon Tunkin's mask in the Hamburg production, which is probably my favorite Phantom possession because it allows me to look more authentic when I dress up as the Phantom. And I have two Playbills from Broadway that my grandparents gave me when I was a kid after they'd seen the show in NY in 1990 and 1991 or 1992; those are also special to me because of the early memories involved. And then there's another special item, but it should not be mentioned; it has to do with very fine wine that I made is all I'll say. Wink

I know I've already posted, but.... Two pictures:

Prized phantom possesions Danishlibretto
A page from the Danish POTO libretto, from the opening of "Notes/Prima Donna". Alternate lyrics is added, but they used the original ones on stage. Other places they've used the additional lyrics (for example the "Three long years..." verse which was originally translated, but later changed into the "Passing bells...").

This is one object I'm incredibly grateful for, especially since it was give to me as a surprise. Thank you, kind, kind person! I dig you.

Prized phantom possesions Wishingbak
"The love of my life", AKA the Hamburg Wishing dress.

This is special to me because of many things. I was obsessed with this dress for many, many years, but I never thought I would one day OWN one. And when it appeared on eBay, I know I couldn't afford it, not by far, but it still became mine. I screamed when I won the auction, then I cried, then I smiled for a week. And I've since cherished it as if it were pure gold - actually, pure gold would mean less to me... Laughing

Craziest thing is that it (almost) fits me. Those who's met me will know that I'm a fairly tall and also broad woman. The typical Christines are not. *feels like inserting a picture of me and Teresia Bokor* So the odds of there being a Christine my size out there AND her dress being put on eBay... Well, that's probably one in a million. But it happened. And on top of that, the dress is one of the most well-made versions I've seen, the bodice is a true masterpiece in tailoring (especially the back) and the bead embroidery too pretty for words.

Which is why I call it "the love of my life": I'm crazy about it. I love it! Very Happy

Phantom Cat. You have a POTO bedside lamp? Awesome! I had no idea such a thing existed! Where on Earth did you get it?

Riene. Wow! That music-box sounds beautiful! Lucky!

MasqPhan. You have a complete Toronto script! OMG!!!!! Like a Star @ heaven

LOL I'm in the toast category too! I've been collecting for a *long* time now, and almost everything has special memories attached. So it'd be really hard to pick! But high on the list would be my books and souvenir programs, my hat and mask, my CDs, and of course my external hard-drive with all my beloved "unmentionables"!

Oh yeah! And my shirt from Avon Boutique!

I know I might not be objective on this, but... I agree. Very Happy It is REALLY pretty. *my precious*

I have a lot more pics of it online, here: http://aneafiles.webs.com/original.html
As you can see, the dress is very faded, especially in front. Which is why it was originally auction away at Neue Flora in Hamburg, I assume. In "flat" light, the fading is very obvious, but in richer light it only looks like the silk is glowing or changing colour after the light. But when compared to the unfaded parts (for example the fabric under the apron), it is very, very apparent. 't is still a most gorgeous piece of garb, though.

I've got Phantom Barbie dolls. Very Happy

Unfortunatly, they are not the offical Mantel creations, but handmade ones that I got for Christmas a few years back (probably when I was old enough to still be playing with Barbies). They were quite expensive, but I love them dearly.

The dolls consist of a beautiful Christine doll with renditions of the dressing gown, Think of Me dress (from the movie), and a wedding dress which has been ruined from over use. I also have quite a good PONR movie version costume for her. As for my little Erik, he's definitly fashioned after Gerard Butler (I swear, he has Michael's nose though!) and came with your basic cape, mask, ect. The mask has since broke and I've had to make paper ones since to keep him looking good and Phantom like. I've been created a full black mask when I had a Leroux fettish.

I'll "model" them for you guys later if I can get my mitts on a camera.

Thank you for that link! It's fascinating to see the pieces and read the construction details. As I said in the costume thread, it's surprising to me just how much more there is to these costumes than one can see from the audience.

I've a friend who's into costume, and I shall send the link on to her as well.

Phantom Cat. You have a POTO bedside lamp? Awesome! I had no idea such a thing existed! Where on Earth did you get it?

I had it made by a craftsman ages ago. I took a photo in and he copied it on glass... magical!

I also treasure a small collection of Limoges bone china pieces of the Opera Garnier. The OG used to sell some lovely souvenirs in their boutique... I have a watch featuring the building, a bone china mug and one of those 3D glass cubes with the OG inside. They have since opened a brand new shop but sadly it doesn't sell anything like that now... just books, CDs and DVDs and ballet goods... and it's all being mega-expensive!

As cheese as it may sound, one of my most prized POTO possessions would be my cassette of the OCCR - my very first piece of POTO merchandise ever.
Along with that I'd say the POTO music/jewelry box that my biological father got me, and the music box of Phantom and Christine in the boat (the retired edition), as well as Playbills and souvenir brochures.

I would grab my husband first, as he's the best thing I've ever gotten from Phantom Very Happy

Well, not 'thing'... person... but you know what I mean.

I think we'd probably grab the Phantom costumes we have, some of the posters signed by various casts, and all of our photos for the memories. We still have plenty of other things to weigh us down, but if I was in a 'choose or burn!' situation I'd probably grab those. As well, they are conveniently stored close to the front door, making for a quick and easy escape. Good planning!

Actually, we used to have a massive collection but we had to downsize a lot in the past few years. It got to be so ridiculously huge that we either had to constantly be renting a storage unit to house it all (not cheap in downtown Toronto) or lose use of an entire room of our house (also not cheap in downtown Toronto), floor to ceiling and wall to wall of storage bins!!. In a way I guess it's good that the storage dilemma presented itself when it did, because I also ended up having a pretty serious injury about a year ago and even though the Canadian government takes care of a lot it hasn't covered all the many, many hours of physical therapy and other treatment. Well, the initial injury was actually 2 years ago, but then the botched surgery to 'fix' it a year ago made it so much worse Crying or Very sad I'm glad we were able to sell some of the POTO stuff to be able to pay for the treatments, or I don't know what we would do. We agreed, if we needed to sell our POTO collection to pay for treatments we'd want to see it go to phellow phans who would properly appreciate it, as we've been storing it in our home where we couldn't possibly have everything out to display. I'm still working through the recovery, I know it'll take awhile, but progress is being made...

And no, injury was not sustained pulling POTO memorabilia from a burning building! tongue

~Rebecca

PS - sorry that turned into venting my life story... just felt it warranted an explanation...
