RIP Steve Jobs
I'm shocked and saddened. Steve Jobs has passed today.
I thought for sure he would come back to Apple at some point.
What a guy. Created some really gorgeous pieces of technology.

Re: RIP Steve Jobs
Sadly, he was dealing with pancreatic cancer, which is a particularly brutal form of the disease. A shame to die at such a relatively young age, but he certainly had an impact while he was here.

Re: RIP Steve Jobs
Very sad news. The world has lost a truly innovative mind. I knew he was very ill, but I expected him to be around for some time still. Thank you, Steve Jobs, for making my technological everyday life better, cooler and classier.
Re: RIP Steve Jobs
I knew it'd only be a matter of time when he stepped down. You knew it had to be for serious health reasons.
Re: RIP Steve Jobs
Quite shocked; I also thought he'd survive longer.
A true visionary. In just a couple of years I have turned into a total Apple user, and right now I can't ever see myself switching.

I've never been a great fan of Apple products, but I was really shocked when I heard the news this morning. RIP.

Re: RIP Steve Jobs
I hadn't followed company news too closely, but knew he'd stepped down for health reasons and heard a rumor that it was pancreatic cancer. So I wasn't too shocked...I know that's a particularly tough cancer to fight.
I'm someone who can't imagine being without my iPod and can think of a million practical reasons to get an iPad...so, while I'm still a Windows person for my laptop, I do love some Apple.

I love my iPod of course, and I'd probably be a MacBook person if I could afford it.

Re: RIP Steve Jobs
Can't say I'm a big Apple user (I find the company itself one of the more unethical and despicable in the world), but there's no denying that Jobs was a creative and bright individual (which we have a shortage of these days), and his death is a tragic one. Derrick Bell passed the same day - also very tragic, the legal and scholarly community will miss him.
