I completely forgot! Which is strange, as I particularly loved the Evita production. We paid way too much for those tickets, as it was early in the run... But it was worth it.

Saw the Oslo production of "We Will Rock You" yesterday. FANtastic cast, but a bit tiresome musical. I mean, yeah, great music. but the actual theatre part of the musical is not the best. Characters I don't really care about, a story which is as basic as it gets. The curse of jukebox musicals, I guess. But again, outstanding cast. Wow.

I've added it to the list above.

I saw WWRY for the first time last February and actually enjoyed it more than I was expecting. Maybe I had really low expectations? Weak plot maybe, but at least they have a point. I'm still not a fan of Queen (apart from a couple of songs), but it's a fun night out anyway

It hasn't been a great 2011 for me personally, but it's been a great "musical year". So far I've seen:

Out of these, Sunset, Wicked and BATB were extraordinary good productions, with original design ideas and great casts. WWRY also had a splendid cast, but I'm not the biggest fan of the actual musical.

I have seen Legally Blonde, The Lion King, Mary Poppins and Jersey Boys - all in London! But Phantom beats all <3

In theatre:
POTO (London) Pretty good - despite it´s problems, there has lavish costumes and staging, some good music and effective melodrama
Les Misérables (London) Some good music, well-made staging but not my favorites
In Youtube:
Notre Dame de Paris (French, Italian, Spanish, English, Russian) Ugly to look at but great music!
Tanz der vampire (Austrian, I think) Very good
Dracula (Wildhorn, German version) Pretty good
As the movie version:
King and I (gorgeous old Technicolored version: Jodie Foster version is not bad, but this was better)
Sound of music (awfully sanitized but the photography was lush and really beautiful)
West side story (I was so young I don´t remember it very well)
