The Wizard of Oz

I auditioned for this today and do you know what I was told? That i was "too musical theatre" which is rather confusing because... well it IS musical theatre? I got through the very first stage of auditions and it was the end of the second stage they said that my soprano style was too musical theatre and that people should have been preparing a more pop-ish sound.

I'm actually not bothered, they advised I auditioned for some of the "more traditional theatre roles" (I'd love to know what they class these as) as I definitely had something. It has given me confidence but it was just the oddest excuse in my book.
