Dress Ideas Empty Dress Ideas

This might be a silly question, but how common was pink in Victorian dresses? I've recently been digging through my collection of fabrics and unfinished project, and found a pink skirt which clearly was meant to be part of a bustle dress. Now I'm looking for ideas on what to do next... I assume pastels were more popular in evening gowns, but a day dress is without a doubt what I'd get to use most. :-/
It's about this colour and of a satin like quality.

Dress Ideas Empty re- pink bustle gown

Post  erikmylove Mon Sep 19, 2011 3:38 pm

HI-]
I am no expert but I do have quite a bit of information saved on several disks about C19th clothing, particularly the Bustle Period, 1870 to 1890 or thereabouts. When I have time, in a year or so ( I'm caretaking my 80 yr old stepmonster ) I have deep fanatasies of making several different gowns from differing fads during those decades.

To the best of my knowledge the color of pink you specified is entirely appropriate for young women and girls , along with bows, lace, pleats, beading, the more the merrier.

I hope this helps you. If I can be of any assistance, do let me know
