The ultimate "who played when" list
Because I am an avid collector of Phantom of the Opera brochures/programmes/playbills, and because I am a nerd, I have tried to make an as complete as possible list of souvenir brochures released worldwide. Obviously such a list will never be 100% complete and accurate, but as I use the list all the time when other people ask about specific performers, years, productions or casts, I wanted to share it with you all.
Apart from making a list of my own collection, I have supplemented with eBay listings, with info from the now defunct Phantom Media page, and with info from various singer's bios/pages.
I'll do one post for each production/country (depending on how long the list is), and I will update if some of you have info that should be added. If you use the listing elsewhere, PLEASE link back to this page so people can see the source. That's all I ask of you.

Re: The ultimate "who played when" list
Wonderful project! Here's some additions:
The final Los Angeles cast (1993) was Davis Gaines, Dale Kristien and Michael Piontek.
The final principal cast in Vienna (1993) was Alfred Pfeifer, Joke de Kruijf (Colleen Besett?) and Thorsten Tinney with Valda Aviks as Carlotta. Previous performers of the production appeared in the final weeks of the production.
I think the Scheveningen cast remained pretty much the same until 1994/1995 - Els Bongers became the principal Christine with Maaike Widdershoven as the alternate. Ben Cramer was the alternate Phantom for the entire run, I believe.

Re: The ultimate "who played when" list
Brilliant lists, very cool! With the West-End ones theres a couple of additions/alterations i wanted to add. The June 91 brochure with Dave Willetts, Jill Washington and Mario Frangoulis, i have this but the date printed is August '91 rather than June but the principal cast members are all the same so i wonder if June is a mistake. Also the Peter Cousens and Glyn Kerslake ones seem to be a bit muddled. There were two brochures printed for both of them, the Peter ones were with Myrra Malmberg, Mike Sterling -May '97 and Shona Lindsay, Mike Sterling -Nov '97. And the Glyn ones were Shona Lindsay, Mike Sterling -April '98 and Jill Washington, Mike Sterling -August '98. There was also a brochure of Mike Sterling, Meredith Braun, Gardar Thor Cortes form March '99.

Re: The ultimate "who played when" list
A couple of quick notes:
Norman Large was in the LA cast, not Lange.
For the US touring cast in 2001 in August/Sept: The cast was the same as the April cast, except that Bill Carmichael left a few weeks into the run for Mamma Mia on Broadway. DC Anderson took over in August in San Antonio, TX. I was there when it happened...talked with both Bill and DC about it at the time.

Re: The ultimate "who played when" list
Thanks so much for compiling all of this! It's good to have it one place now that a lot of the sites that used to keep track of this are now long gone.
A few other edits:
That D'Ambrosio/Shayne cast you have listed in LA was never in LA. That brochure was from the early days of the 3NT. Gaines took over after MC's final run, and stayed through '93, when he shifted with that production to SF and then soon after to Broadway for almost three years. He also did a few cities toward the end of the 2NT in '98, including Minneapolis. (Was he the last 2NT Phantom? I think so.)
I think some of the dates/locations on the 2NT are wrong. It didn't sit down in Chicago with three different Phantoms over that many years. The 2NT roved like the 3NT did; it just played longer engagements in larger cities. Kevin Gray was the Phantom after Jacoby left for Broadway, but he played in Pittsburgh, Boston, and other cities before Hilsabeck joined the cast.
The dates for New Orleans with Grant Norman were all in '95. I saw that tour on December 2, 1995, with Thomas James O'Leary as the Phantom in Norfolk, VA. It was mostly the same rest of the cast.

Thank you all for great contributions, much appreciated - I will add and change and remove when I have time to do so.
Re: The ultimate "who played when" list
US Tour: Toronto 2007
John Cudia, Marni Raab, Greg Mills, Kim Stengel, DC Anderson, Bruce Winant, John Whitney, Kate Wray.
I also noticed in the late 90s for the Music Box Tour you repeated a lot of the same theaters/cities but there was different dates on them.

Re: The ultimate "who played when" list
Brilliant compilation! I think you need to look again at the Albert Hall one though as Sam Hiller didn't play a principal role in that. Also Royce Mills didn't start as Firman until the 2nd cast. It was John Savident in October '86. Really interesting though.

operafantomet wrote:Because I am an avid collector of Phantom of the Opera brochures/programmes/playbills, and because I am a nerd, I have tried to make an as complete as possible list of souvenir brochures released worldwide.
That's all I ask of you.

...wow. I haven't been here in ages...just happened to notice my website name on this post. Phantom-media.info is back up and running.

Re: The ultimate "who played when" list
I've tried to revise the lists after your very helpful additions and revisions. Sorry if I've missed some of them, it's hard going back and forth with all these stops and names and dates. There's still issues with the US tour lists, I'm sure. But the most embarrassing mistakes has been fixes, and new brochures added.
PhantomsGhost, so happy to see your site back online. It was of immense help for me back in the days.

The ultimate who played when list
Hi operafantomet
Harry Allen here
I was checking through the ultimate who played when list and noticed that you do not have the cast list for Japan for the Chunichi Theatre and the Kintetsu theatre for December 20th to April 7th 1991 and September 20th 1991 to December 22 1991 respectively I have these two brochures by chance actually so if you would like I could share this information with you.
If you get this message please do not hesitate to get into contact with me
Hope to hear from you soon

Re: The ultimate "who played when" list
Awesome lists! Thank you so much for compiling these!
One correction that comes to mind (though I'll see if I can spot more) -- the 3NT's San Francisco stop in 2008 was at the Orpheum Theatre, not the Curran. Also, you spelt Bruce Winant's name with a V there, but got it correct everywhere else.
