Re: Rare pictures 2
Earl Carpenter is back at Her Majesty's Theatre....
From here: http://wanderingchild.tumblr.com/post/10879556018/im-still-laughing-about-this-you-guys
ETA: while looking for pictures of Myrra Malmberg, I ran across this lovely gallery, mostly with original cast photos, and with some from Broadway, the UK tour and a few international productions. Most pictures are well known to the general fan, but I must admit a few of them (especially those from the UK tour) were stuff I had never seen before. And I've visited TopFoto many times in the past! Seems like they change their stock photos every now and then. Watermark has changed too, from all over the picture to lower right corner.
http://www.topfoto.co.uk/gallery/phantomoftheopera/index.html
I didn't really find any useful pictures of Myrra Malmberg, though. Anyone who has photos of her as Christine (from West End 1997) in any costume APART from the dressing gown and the rooftop?

Love it! Although he does look a little less than comfortable in that shot

Re: Rare pictures 2
Though performers like Juan Carlos Barona and Julia Möller has a solid fan base within the Phantom community, there re very little talk of the Madrid production in general. Which is strange, as it was a good one, with many wonderful performers, and it's also one of the more recent ones. So here's a bunch of pictures to share the love.
I guarantee some of the pictures are mislabeled, as it's ages ago I saved them on my computer. But most is correct.
Juan Carlos Barona.
First is Julia Möller, second is Teresa Barrientos, third is Armando Pita. The latter is one of the best pictures I've seen of the managers and wife "freezing" while Raoul sings. It's a nice little detail done in most/all international productions, and it kinda shows how we're seeing the world through Raoul's memories. It's more intimate than him interacting with the managers through the scene.
One of my favourite Degas pictures, with poses from several of Degas' works. Gillian Lynne, I luv ya.
A closeup of the boat scene. I wanna say Felicidad Farag and Luis Armando?
Full version of the previous picture, plus a super cool one of Farag and Armando in the Phantom's lair.
1. Felicidad Farag reaching for the high E.
2. Luis Armando and Julia Möller.
3. Juan Carlos Barona and Silvia Luchetti.
4. Ditto.
5. Luis Armando and Felicidad Farag.
Julia Möller and...?
Cast photos from Prima Donna and Il Muto. Too lazy to look up names, though Meg is Evangelina Esteves.
Julia Möller in the rooftop scene, and a super awesome Masquerade staircase picture.
More Masquerade. I think it's Felicidad Farag and Armando Pita in the first one. Second is Silvia Luchetti.
1. Julia Möller dancing.
2. In many productions the Matador costume is worn by one of the dummies. Not so in Spain!
3. Juan Carlos Barona in Red Death gears. Very colourful deformity there...
Not to keen on that Red Death mask, but the picture is very cool.
I have saved this as "portal, pita, fernandez". I'm sure that is right.
1. Silvia Luchetti, 2. Julia Möller, 3. Felicidad Farag.
1. Susana Casas as Carlotta. I love this style of the red 2nd act dress.
2. Juan Carlos Barona in graveyard costume.
3. Julia Möller in a steamy PONR moment. I LOVE that glittering front of the skirt.
4. Juan Carlos Barona in the PONR cloak.
5. Luis Armando and Felicidad Farag in PONR/reprise.
1. Julia Möller and ?
2. Silvia Luchetti and Armando Pita (Raoul). Dunno who the Phantom is.
3. Felicidad Farag and Armando Pita.
For those interested in nerd info:
1. Most of the Madrid sets and costumes came from the Mexican production*. They also got bits and pieces from... I wanna say Belgium? Plus a few new items made in England. The costumes and sets from Madrid has later been used in Brazil and Argentina (which is why they are "European" in style). Hopefully we'll see a new "Latin" production soon!
2. *The Mexican production originally got the costumes and sets from Toronto. But little was re-used (I still wonder whyyyyy! And where the Toronto stuff is...). Instead they had shiploads of new stuff made in England. But I was told from someone within the production that the black cloak Saulo Vasconcelos wore was from Toronto, as well as many of the Masquerade costumes. I also know one of the blue Wishing dresses got a backdrape from Canada. So.... anyone able to spot items that are definitely Canadian in these pictures?

Re: Rare Pictures
@operafantomet: No, not in the pictures. But in some Bianca Marroquin (spelling?) fan video on youtube, they had a small clip of Irasema Terrazas singing Think of Me. Christine's elissa skirt was formerly used in Toronto aswell, from what I saw.
Also, I was web-surfing and came across this site with a bunch of cast info and (tiny) photos from many foreign productions:

That's the 10th anniversary cast in London, isn't it?ladygodiva wrote:London

Here are some of my favourite WYWSHA pictures. I picked those where the Christine have some sort of despair in her face, and also the photos in colours. There were a couple of vintage b/w ones from Toronto and New York I would have added, but the b/w didn't look good towards the very coloured ones.
Top: Ana Marina (World Tour), Anne Görner (Essen), Danielle Everett (Australia), Rebecca Caine (Toronto).
Bottom: Susanne Elmark (Copenhagen), Magdalene Minnaar (South Africa), Elizabeth Loyacano (Las Vegas), Yasuko Sado? (Japan), Sarah Brightman (London).
And no, Anne Görner was not a readhead Christine, it's just a scan with too much contrast.
ETA: The three Christines.... I know it's been done by various Christines, but it just looked funny to see these three in the same costume and about the same pose. Very "Three tenors" vibes.
Re: Rare pictures 2
This one is probably known to many. But there's always room for some decent cloak swirl photos, right?
Colm Wilkinson from a Toronto ad. I love the Phantom-in-cloak photos from Canada!

Anybody? Please?
And to answer this one from a few pages ago--It's Franc D'Ambrosio. He sent me a signed one of these when he was in SF, but it could very well have been from when he was with the 3NT.

Will this do? My scanner has seen better days, but I had a recent Playbill in my desk drawer.

Continuing the pointless collage making... This time with Meg in the end scene:
Top: Carolina Puntel (Brazil), Cat Lane (South Africa), Anna Grönros (Denmark) and Heidi Ann O'Brien (UK).
Bottom: Early Japanese Meg, Natasha Knight (Switzerland), Tandi Miekle (South Africa), help... UK tour, ca. 2000?

Re: Rare pictures 2
The "Yes, Neve Campbell was indeed in the Toronto production of Phantom" collage:
The screencaps are legit, they come from the Canadian "Behind the Mask" documentary. The Christine in the lower left corner is understudy Caroline Schriller. But that's the only face I recognize, apart from Neve Campbell. Anyone who can name the ballet girls or the Don Juan cast?

Long time ago, someone actually sent me a brochure from this production (before it closed). It is my greatest treasure.
It's amazing to see the full shot.

Re: Rare pictures 2
They repeated the same idea for the Stuttgart production, but alas not for the Essen one. Though for some reason I think the Hamburg one is more atmospheric. Can't put my finger on why. Maybe because the Hamburg one is a bit ambiguous in whether it's photoshopped or not, while the Stuttgart one clearly is... I like both, though.

I'm making screencaps from the Royal Albert Hall DVD, mostly for costume reference. But while I'm at it, does anyone have any wishes?
Please keep the Hadley Fraser requests at a minimum, I can only take so much of his performance...

would it be possible to see screencaps of- Sierra and Hadley(sorry!) by one of the blasts of fire in wandering child, Sierra and Ramin on the PONR bench, Ramin and Sierra in MOTN at '...garish light of day' and some good shots of the mask?
thanks!
I also managed to find another Claire Louise Hammacott pic in costume:

Re: Rare pictures 2
I think it would be a cool challenge if you could find screen shots of past principals in the chorus.
from the little I watched I was only able to spot 2 i recognised: Celia and Deborah Dutcher in the DJT rehearsal, alot of the other chorus scenes the shots are so brief and cutting from one to the next

OK, some screencaps from the RAH DVD, with a slight bias towards Sierra Boggess.
Beautiful lady in beautiful costumes!

Wow, thanks for those pics operafantomet!
Quite a lot of odd poses in there too, like the first MOTN where Sierra is trying to eat Ramin's finger, and the il muto one where it looks like Christine was just stabbed in the back by Carlotta!

Re: Rare pictures 2
I like the concept a lot, but it would just take too much time. I know that the owner of the blog http://glassprism.tumblr.com/ did it some while ago, though. She was able to match several screenshots with previous cast members. Look for entries made some days after the first screening.justin-from-barbados wrote:I think it would be a cool challenge if you could find screen shots of past principals in the chorus.

Hahaha! I second that. That photoshopping gives a whole new meaning to "floating falling"
Here's a few more screencaps Photobucket didn't upload earlier today:

Okay...you might hate me but I was wondering if you have any screen caps of Sierra with the wedding dress that has gold appliques on it? I thought I remembered you or someone else on the board saying they didn't like it and at first I didn't...but looking back, I am warming up to it. :-)
Ballet Chorus Pics
Not sure if these are rare and I don't recall seeing them in the forum but I came across two pictures of the ballet chorus gals...they are pretty cool I think! Just thought I would share....so cute how a couple of them are wearing sunglasses on the bus...lol Looks so funny with their costumes!!!

Those are from a Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS calendar that came out a couple of years ago. Every month had the ballerinas out in New York City - at a ball game, on a carousel, at a fire station, etc. I love that calendar so much, I have two of them. One day I'll get around to actually scanning or taking quality pictures of it...
