Re: Rare pictures 2
Your picture links needs to start with http:// (which they do) and end with a .jpg or .gif (which they don't). A picture link will typically look like this:thephanfullerton wrote:AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHH!!!!!! Why do my pictures fail, hopefully it is just my computer!
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v323/reiseaudun/designdiverse/auctioneerlackey.jpg
And you put the img tags around it to display it directly, or just put out the link so others can click it themselves (like above). Whatever you do, don't put img tags around a link you've found on the internet. That is called hotlinking, and is frowned upon. You steal other people's bandwidth by doing that. Upload the pictures to a picture server, like Photobucket or Flickr, and use that link to post pictures in forums, web sites etc.

Re: Rare pictures 2
Some pictures from the Royal Albert Hall concert. Taken cause we lost the signal at the screening in Oslo, and got random pictures (without sound) of Red Death and Notes II/Twisted before loosing the signal entirely. My main concert was to document it, to get a refund on the tickets, but some of them turned out semi decent. The white line in the first picture merely told us we were going to loose the signal in a few seconds...
(this is actually all I saw and heard of Notes II/Twisted every way. )
There's also nice curtain call pictures over at the official FB site:

Re: Rare pictures 2
The South African Phantom page has posted a couple of production pictures from 2004. Some were brand new to me!
André Schwartz as the Phantom, Lana English as Christine, Pauline du Plessis as Carlotta, Tandi Miekle as Meg, and Marcus Desando as Piangi. They're using the Australian sets and costumes.

Oh god, the detail on the Point of No Return cloak in that one shot is GORGEOUS. I had no idea it looked like that on the sleeves.

PLEASE TELL ME THEY ARE NOT USING THAT CRAPTASTIC LOOKING SKULL MASK NOW IN LONDON!
reminds me of the Vienna / Basel version
Interesting to see that they changed up the makeup for the deformity a tad to suit filming

Ah thanks SenorSwankey! I thought it looked Karrie, but it was listed as Hyslop so I thought I ought to put it as that. On the bright side it is a very nice picture, and I always think that Karrie's mask looks particularly good here.

Just a heads up, the South African POTO Facebook site post one gorgeous picture after another, from their previous 2004 production. Most pictures were not featured in their brochure, which is a treat. I think they update daily, or semi daily, so keep an eye on the page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Phantom-of-the-Opera-South-Africa/209472882399300
I've posted several here previously, here's some more:
It's one of the best "pistols and human skulls" pictures I've seen. And hahaha, for some seconds I thoughts Meg's blonde wig had reached epic proportions in that second photo! Turned out a mustard cloak is overlapping with her hair.
That last picture is all kinds of awesome.

The big transformation....
Sarah Brightman, West End 1986.
Rebecca Caine, West End 1987.
Sarah Brightman, Broadway 1988.
Ana Marina, World Tour 2008
Sierra Boggess, Royal Albert Hall 2011

Re: Rare pictures 2
I know someone made lovely scans from the Vegas brochure when it was first published. But I think those were lost with the old forum. Here's some new scans - no awesome quality, but more than decent. It's not a complete scan, as some pages turned out really crappy. Alas several of these were pics of Sierra Boggess and/or ensemble scenes. But it's a large chunk of the brochure.
Jessica Walker, Tim Martin Gleason and Donald Williams.
The Vegas chandelier and a caryatide.
Larry Wayne Morbitt as Hannibal/Piangi.
Aaaaaand.... strut!
Sierra Boggess in "Think of Me", with Tim Martin Gleason, John Leslie Wolfe, Joan Sobel and Lawson Skala in the manager's box.
Giant Raoul (TMG) hovering over the Degas ballet girls... Plus Elizabeth Loyacano in the dressing room. She has one of the most peculiar and beautiful Christine looks I've seen. This picture is da bomb. Last picture shows Sierra Boggess and Anthony Crivello in the mirror scene.
The boat picture shows Elizabeth Loyacano with Anthony Crivello, the MOTN one is her and Brent Barrett.
Anthony Crivello, Brent Barrett, plus Elizabeth Loyacano and Tim Martin Gleason. These pages are not side by side in the brochure, just for the record.
Parts of the Palais Garnier facade, which slowly rises during the "Entr'acte". There are elaborate fireworks as well.
Masquerade! TMG and Sierra Boggess as the happy couple.
Elena Jeanne Batman and Sierra Boggess as another "happy couple". Justin Lee Miller as Don Attilio. The enlarged picture shows Nicole Pryor, Geena Jeffries Mattox, Patrick Leveque (yes, I was very close to write "Lefevre"...), Ted Keegan and Brianne Kelly Morgan.
Zooming in even more.... Because the role of Meg is terribly underrepresented in the brochure. Also, Gillian Lynne on the choreography. Only the last paragraph is new, though. These pages does not belong together, just for the record.
Don Juan Triumphant. On top Elena Jeanne Batman, Larry Wayne Morbitt, Elizabeth Loyacano, and her with Brent Barrett.
Synopsis under the picture of Brent Barrett. They write the auction is in the Palais Garnier. Booh them. They also write that Christine during PONR becomes aware that the Phantom has replaced Piangi as Don Juan.
Wandering Child... Brent Barrett on top of the grave. TMG and Sierra Boggess in a rooftop picture glued into the graveyard, as has been custom since Barton and Brightman - don't ask me why. Vegas' Daddy Daaé lived from 1821-1870. Again, they originally set the story in the early 1870s (1873-75ish, judging from the costume design), but this was changed somewhere along the way. But this account for why the grave still say he died in 1870, though we learn that Christine's loss is supposed to be pretty recent. It also gives more room for a bigger gap between the auction and the main story. But I'm digressing...
ETA: just noticed the grave in the RAH concert said 1821-1872. Though not a big detail, I wonder why they keep changing it in different productions.

I have some Peter Karrie pics for you, couldn't find any specifically for Vancouver though. In mask of course! Couldn't find anything with Carl Sanderson. Hope you enjoy! Sorry if some of the pictures aren't the greatest quality, some of them were hard to scan and my scanner needs a cleaning!

:-) Glad you all like the pics! I think the Canadian brochures have some of the nicest pictures, they are not blurry, distorted, or taken from a million miles away so you can barely see anyone...lol They are really gorgeous!
Re: Rare pictures 2
That one back-of-the-program photo of Karrie holding the lantern has always been one of my all-time favorite PotO production photos. As previously stated, very 'elegant', and beautifully shot.

First time I saw that photo it was one of the ones that was blown up on the back of the Pantages, almost died (at the time I thought the Pantages only had the tiny frontage on Younge St.)
Re: Rare pictures 2
I came across these two pics from the Australian Sunday Herald Sun from yesterday. I don't know if they're rare or not...I've not seen them before (or if I have, I don't remember.... )
And
Amusingly this one had the caption that it was from Melbourne's Love Never Dies.

Re: Rare pictures 2
I believe they are both pictures of David Shannon from one of the London souvenir brochures. The top one almost certainly is, I remember the first time I saw that style of picture on the Angel it was Ramin Karimloo. I think they may have just photoshopped David's head onto Ramin's body for the subsequent picture.

Hahaha! Both are recent pictures from the West End production. ETA: starryeyed beat me to it.
Thank you for those Peter Karrie scans! I love the one on the golden angel, where his pose echoes that of the main female figure.

Ah, That would explain it then as to why I haven't seen them before. I don't have a current brochure

As promised, some scans from the 1995 Edinburgh brochure. Cast was Mark McKerracher (Phantom), Nicky Adams (Christine), Andrew Halliday (Raoul), Carol Duffy (Madame Giry), Dorte Holst (Carlotta), Adrian Martin (Piangi), Paul Monaghan (André) and Anthony Raffell (Firmin). Alas I don't know who Meg was.
Re: Rare pictures 2
I saw a picture of Liesl Dowsett from the concert on Sunday and looking at that and these pictures from 1995, there must be some Dorian Gray affect going on with her. She still looks absolutely fantastic!
