Re: The Broadway production + US tour
That is a lot of money, but considering the cause, the perks, the rising price of regular tickets anyway, and having been invited to so many political fundraisers where $500 is a lower level of sponsorship, that didn't raise my eyebrows too much.
Re: The Broadway production + US tour
So who else on here is planning on going to the 10,000th performance?

Close, but not quite....We're going to be there the weekend before. Enjoy the celebration everyone! I hope it's amazing.
Re: The Broadway production + US tour
I know it's a ways off, but any word yet on Phantoms 25th on Broadway celebrations? I was curious as to if the performances will stay at the majestic for the actual 25th or if there will be a "special" performance at another venue in NYC

Re: The Broadway production + US tour
I can't imagine them doing another big 25th only a year and three months later. So it'll probably be much like the record-breaking performance--some special guests at the Majestic and a ball afterwords.

I'll be there. Front Mezz 107 A. I'm actually there 5 performances that week.
Re: The Broadway production + US tour
Equity auditions have been (possibly still being) held for the US National Tour

Re: The Broadway production + US tour
No, that's for the Broadway production. The new tour won't be directed by Hal if they're using the same new production that'll be touring the UK.
Love your avatar though.

Re: The Broadway production + US tour
Haha thanks! Are you certain? There seems to have been a few facebook status' from those who auditioned who said it was for the national tour, I figured the information in terms of director, music, set design and whatnot is just the basic "stock information" on the show that is used at any audition process; however it could just be for broadway but the listing is pretty current, I will try to see if I can find the exact quotes from those who did audition...somewhere, lol!

Re: The Broadway production + US tour
Pretty current in what sense? Seems like the same info we usually see for audition postings. And who auditioned? If they're not name actors with inside info, I'd take it with a grain of salt.
Re: The Broadway production + US tour
I know they are having their big 10,000th soon, but before I forget (may not be able to get online tomorow) just want to wish them a happy 24th birthday tomorow
Re: The Broadway production + US tour
HAPPY 24TH BIRTHDAY! Just one more year before the Broadway production turns a quarter of a century!
Re: The Broadway production + US tour
Incidentally, is anyone up for a Broadway group trip to see this during the first week of May? I wasn't planning to go, especially as last time I saw the production Hugh was playing Phantom and I would have liked to see someone else for a change, but I think I've changed my mind...
Re: The Broadway production + US tour
I've always liked Panaro, but to me he's gotten darker and less androgyne in his current portrayal, and more sensual. I found I preferred that.Scorp wrote:Incidentally, is anyone up for a Broadway group trip to see this during the first week of May? Speaking of which, HAPPY 24TH BROADWAY PHANTOM! I luuuuv ya. I hope those of you seeing the show today will have a blast, and that you'll tell us everything about it afterwards.

Re: The Broadway production + US tour
Hugh and Trista are featured in a video from The Huffington Post
Link
And it'll probably be announced on Facebook, but Hugh, Trista, and Kyle will be on CBS' Saturday morning program...I don't have exact time or details, but they are scheduled to sing.
Also, I heard something very tantalizing about yet more pro-shot footage being shot recently , but at the moment, that's all I can or will say. I don't know many details and nothing has been said officially.

Re: The Broadway production + US tour
Isn't that the pro-shot footage right there? It's definitely those three.
(Also didn't realize LND is coming to theaters. Can't imagine the audience being very big.)

From what I heard, this pro-shot wasn't filmed at the same time as the footage in the Huffington Post piece. As far as I know, it was a camera crew from a television network (and not for the CBS segment, either).
Re: The Broadway production + US tour
On a side note, how awesome would it have been to have the 10,000 bway performance streamed live in theatres! Or even NYC's upcoming 25th anni.

Because it's the actual show broadcast from one of the show's longtime venues.SweetChristine wrote:SenorSwanky wrote:Would've been preferable to the RAH.

Re: The Broadway production + US tour
and Christine would be wearing her pom pom sleves in masquerade
just kidding, but yes, I personally would love to have a DVD of the actual show, particularly from NYC (as much as I love the RAH one)
But alass I am sure there would be endless legal ramblings/contracts/rights that would prevent such from happening anytime soon.

Re: The Broadway production + US tour
According to POTO Broadway's facebook page, CBS This Morning will have POTO on tomorrow during the final 8AM ET hour.
