The whole event must have been so amusing this year! I love the Wicked part, where all kinds of musical characters are green-faced. Green!Annie! Laughing

I think in the one photo you can catch the slightest off-side glimpse of a green Phantom, too!

There are some videos up on the Broadway Cares site of the Easter Bonnet Competition. You get a quick(like 3 sec) glimpse of Meg shooting at Christine and hitting the Phantom.

Just heard through the grapevine that George Lee Andrews will return to the role of Andre once more on July 5 at the Majestic.

Has anyone heard anything about the Atlanta run of the tour not selling well, or something? I had bought tickets for July 22nd and just got a notice that the performance has been canceled.

from Julie Hanson's website:

I have temporarily returned to the Broadway company of Phantom for seven weeks (May 17th-July 3rd) to cover for a leave of absence for the Christine understudy/ensemble track! It’s fun and strange to be back in a role I haven’t done in seven years! I will post any scheduled Christine performances if they should come up. Meanwhile, I’m having fun working with a lot of old friends and some new, playing the triangle, and falling out of the mirror every night! It’s nice to be back!

wee! I should head to new york soon... gosh I hate school getting in the way.

Ahhhh! Went to the matinee performance today! Saw the Phantom understudy Dallyn Vail Bayles, who was absolutely amazing! Him and Trista were amazing together. I'll write a review when I have a chance.

Also, went to the stage door and met most of the main cast! They're all so sweet! Very Happy

I'm not sure what is going on...but I had tickets for the July 24th show in Atlanta and they were canceled as well. It looks like they cut the run by a week. I'm very disappointed!

I went to the evening performance, lady! Shame, we could have schedueled something. In my book, they said the Phantom for the evening was Andrew Valera. But I know for a fact it was not Tim Martin Gleason. But I *know* I saw Trista and Sean.

I heard they cancelled some weeks in Baltimore too. Not good.

Glad you had a nice time, Callie Daae! Looking forward to a review... Smile

And how cool about Julie Hanson returning on B'way. I hope she'll get to be Christine a couple of times. Who is currently the Christine alternate? Is it Marni Raab?

That would have been awesome if we could've met! I love the cast so much! It was also a plus that I had 2nd row in the center, which was right under the chandelier. Very Happy

With all these cancellations, I'm glad I'm seeing it Wednesday - it's less likely they'd cancel with such short notice! and reasons being given yet for cancellations?

My fiance just moved to NYC and walked past the POTO theatre a couple of days ago, and reports that JHW is principle Christine, with Marni Raab as alternate.

Excellent, thanks!

no one has had news since MAY? goodness.

It's looking like I will be in New York between the 28th of june to about july 1st (I will fangirl when I have the energy). Suggestions on whether to see matinees, evening shows, etc? and where to sit unless the majestic is a fairly forgiving theatre? (I'm also open to seeing a second show, so suggestions for that other than wicked and the lion king would be well appreciated.)

No real suggestions on whether to see matinee vs. evening, but you might want to consider which Christine you want to see in order to book an appropriate performance.

In terms of seating, the Majestic's pretty small, but the general rules of seating apply - do you prefer to sit up close, far enough back to see everything, want to sit under the chandelier, etc. Locals might have additional thoughts on this, but I've been there a few times, so I can probably give you a few suggestions on sections and rows.

I'm going out for a weekend in July to see my fiance, so we've been looking at ticket prices pretty closely. Orchestra prices are the same regardless of what part of the week you go, but mezzanine tickets are much cheaper if you go Monday-Thursday rather than Friday-Saturday. (But if you're anything like me, you're probably wanting orchestra Wink ). Playbill.com seems to have discounts a lot. I haven't given them much look just yet, but you could always try that as well.

Anytime you're seeing the Broadway show(or Vegas) it's a good idea to check www.travelzoo.com as they very often have discount codes to use at the box office when purchasing tickets. They aren't a third party seller, they just provide the code to use to book direct.

Doing that I've saved been 30 and 50% off tickets in the past.

oh I am beyond tempted to see Next to Normal... the question is... will my grandma?

I'm thinking of booking for an evening show in the first few rows of the mezzanine. I saw Marni when she was in Toronto, and she was fantastic, but I think I'm leaning towards JHW...

but personally i would loooove to see Julie Hanson as christine before she leaves the company again...

all right, update is I've booked my tickets. I'm sitting row H in the orchestra just off to the side on the left. I'm most definitely going stage dooring Smile and my second show choice was Mary Poppins (thanks Anea! I love you ) for that I'm around row D in the mezzanine. I'm looking forward to it! Very Happy

I rarely wade into this thread but I'll be in NY in a few weeks time and it's went out my head what days it are that the alternate performs. If anyone knows it would be much appreciated, thanks.
