Although this is wonderful news, every time I read about how much effort Cameron is putting into this film, I am reminded why I hate Joel Schumacher so much.

Peter Karrie is working on a new musical, Rasputin. The music, arrangements and lyrics are by him.
There are some samples on this site but they are from old recordings. There have been some changes in places but it's not ready to record yet.

According to his post on Facebook, Tim Martin Gleason has a tiny part on this week's Criminal Minds on CBS.

My parents love that show. CBS dramas have some of the highest senior citizen and middle-aged viewership of any shows on TV. I think NCIS is tops with them.

David Shannon is returning to Les Mis as Jean Valjean for a limited time from Tuesday April 3rd 2012 - Saturday 16th June 2012.

Ramin Karimloo has extended until March 31st 2012 (I can see their being a repeat of when he extend in LND from some of his fans...)

TMG had about a two-minute cameo on Criminal Minds. Hadn't ever seen him do anything but Phantom before. He wasn't bad for being on such a terrible show.

Franc D'Ambrosio will perform in a solo concert of Broadway fare with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra on April 1 at The Forum in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Roughly it tells that the annual Great Diva Night will not happen, instead there'll be the first festival of Musical Theatre Divas. Each night of the festival will be within a given theme, Lisa Vroman participates in the "Paris-Broadway" night. My bet is that she'll sing something from both Phantom and Les Mis (played on Broadway, set in Paris), though they don't tell.

Nice interview with long-time Broadway Phantom Howard Mcgillin, now performing the role of the devilish Applegate in Damn Yankees at the Papermill Playhouse. He does, of course, answer some questions about his experiences in Phantom. He also mentions two old-time former Christines - Patty Cohenour and Rebecca Luker.

In 2008 she played the role of Johanna in a touring production of Sweeney Tood, along with David Shannon, Rosemary Ashe and Michael McCarthy. I still regret missing out on this. In 2011 she appeared in the 25th anniversary POTO concert in Royal Albert Hall. For a living she's running a dance studio somewhere, and seems rather happy with that.

David Shannon (ex Phantom and Raoul in West End) returns as Jean Valjean in Les Mis, with first performance tonight.

He's a great Valjean, up there with Colm, Stig Rossen, and PK, et al, for me.

Benjamin Lake (ex Piangi in West End) is on The Voice UK right now.

ETA: And he didn't get through Such a shame, he actually had a really good audition and his voice sounded a lot better than I remember it being when he was Piangi? The judges gave him rather odd comments actually. Especially since they seemed impressed during his audition.

Ah, that's who he is, I thought he looked familiar! I can't remember what he was like as Piangi, but I thought he sounded great in his audition.

John Owen-Jones's new album, Unmasked, is out tomorrow.

I think every Phantom has had an album called Unmasked. I think at least both PK and MC did.

So all Phantom solo CDs are called "Unmasked" and all documentaries are called "Behind the Mask". Creative.
