http://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/olivier_awards/vote/ VOTE VOTE VOTE! I am trying the tactic of also getting people who had wanted things like Les Mis to be nominated to vote for Phantom just to stop Wicked winning.

Voted! Round up the troops guys, we can win this! We did it before in 2002, we can do it again! Don't let green-faced pop-voiced witches steal this from us!
Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
Thank you for voting for the Laurence Olivier Audience Award. Your vote has been counted and you have been entered into the prize draw.

Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
I voted as well! Any idea when they'll announce the winner?
Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
I think we can vote until March 17th and the awards are March 21st. I would assume we wouldn't know the winner beforehand. I will have to double check those dates though as I am just going from memory.

Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
Just to let people know that Wicked unsurprisingly won the WOS Award, while poor old Phantom came second last (even The Lion King and We Will Rock You beat it, for heaven's sake!), which is all the more reason for why you should make sure THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN for the Oliviers!
http://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/olivier_awards/vote/
Oh well, happy to see Streetcar, Endgame and both Hamlets get WOS Awards, but still...that's a pretty pathetic result for Phantom. But it has a much better chance of winning the Olivier yet another time...but its biggest challenge is the fact that it's competing with the winner of the WOS Award, Wicked! Deformed masked men who compose opera are inherently better than green-faced witches who don't melt when they're supposed to! Sort it out! Now's your chance to show his Lordship just how respected his piece of so-called "hokum" is, at least by audiences if not by him... And wouldn't it be cool for Phantom to win yet another Olivier and for a certainrelated stand-alone show to run the risk of losing it the following year?
http://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/olivier_awards/vote/
Vote now, that's all I ask of you....
Can you tell I need to go to bed?
(Incidentally, since we were wondering earlier, Wicked's never won an Olivier Award... The year it was nominated, the award went to Caroline, Or Change. And of course it didn't win the Tony either. Phantom won both the Olivier AND the Tony in its day. And it can still do it again.)

Wicked just emailed all its fangirls to tell them to vote. We're f***ed! Please keep voting though!

We are so far beyond f***ed, that the light from f***ed will take on billion years to reach the earth. I voted as well
Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
My only functioning browser screws up the voting page so I can't tell who I'm picking, so I haven't voted yet.

Has anyone thought of hitting up Facebook-based phans and Phantom pages to gather more voters?Scorp wrote:Wicked just emailed all its fangirls to tell them to vote. We're f***ed! Please keep voting though!

Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
Myself and Gina (Beck) combined have spammed almost every Phantom fan group.
I say that Gina, Simon and whatever Phantom feels up to it (or is around) should make up a song set to one of the Phantom tunes and videos it and puts it on YouTube for votes.

Done that...though I fear it might not be enough to combat the mass power of the Wicked fans...
Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
Ooh, is there any way we can hit up the LND official fan page? Or is posting on that wall Admins only?

Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
It seems RUG have started listening after I whined at them for not putting more effort into getting people to vote. The Facebook page for Phantom now has a 'VOTE Phantom' tab and I noticed a Facebook advert as well. I think they should send out emails asking us to vote as well, since that's what Wicked is doing, and have a big announcement on their Facebook page like War Horse. Honestly, it's not rocket science...and they wonder why they lost the WOS Award!
Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
You've done such an effort in making people (including, it seems, the RUG) aware of this. Phantom may not win, but it'll definitely get lots of vote. Awesome job.Scorp wrote:It seems RUG have started listening after I whined at them for not putting more effort into getting people to vote. VERY slowly...it's only now that they've listened to my nagging and sent out an email newsletter asking everyone to vote. And only 2 days left in which to do so! Oh well, at least they listened, and better late than never.
OK guys, final push! If you haven't done so already, MAKE SURE YOU DO!

I am refraining from properly commenting until later as I will go on a rant about the London Wicked cast and show and I don't want to do that but all I will say now is...
Wicked? REALLY?
I'd have preferred to lose to War Horse.

Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
Booooh. It was not surprising, but I still had a small hope. Ah well. Phantom must have been in the top 3, at least.
Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
Well, it's that time of the year again.
I urge everyone to navigate to http://awards.whatsonstage.com/ and nominate Phantom for Question 25. Fan power! Maybe this time we can beat the Wicked fans...

Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
Have nominated Phantom.
No doubt people will nominate Wicked too, though. Stiff miffed all kind of "we have played more than three years, yippee" musicals was nominated for the "Best long-running musical" award at BroadwayWorld. It should be reserved for shows who's had a run of 10 years minimum. Don't think Wicked deserves the award.... yet.

Re: Phantom up for an(other) award...vote!
Excellent work, guys, Phantom made the nominations list for the WOS Awards. Unfortunately for us, so did Wicked, so please make sure you vote for Phantom in the EQUITY Best West End category here: http://awards.whatsonstage.com It would be great for Phantom to win this in its 25th anniversary year!
By the way, if you want to vote in other categories, starryeyed and I are urging you please to vote for the following actors/shows in the following categories (some other categories are suggestions only by myself). A certain sequel is represented in all of the categories below and if, like me, you find it nothing short of a disgrace, then you may want to vote accordingly as well (of course, I'm also voting for them personally because I genuinely think they are worthy of the award having seen the performances in question, with the exception of Legally Blonde, which I've not seen):

- The NURSING STANDARD Best Supporting Actress in a Musical - vote for SCARLETT STRALLEN (NOT Summer Strallen)
- Best Supporting Actor in a Musical - vote for DAVE WILLETTS (former London Phantom)
- The SEE TICKETS Best New Musical - vote for LEGALLY BLONDE
