Re: Merchandise suggestions
Wow... that's a tough one. I'd think I would decide to eat it, but would never be able to actually bring myself to do so. It's too gorgeous! (Although a supply that big mist last me a couple of weeks ).

Re: Merchandise suggestions
I'll eat it after I've enjoyed it for a while and photographed it in detail. Chocolate is meant to be eaten . I have a picture somewhere of the Paris Opera done as a cake with white frosting. Really lovely, have to go and see if I can find it.
I wonder what a chocolate sculpture like that would cost...

Re: Merchandise suggestions
Holy macaroni! That's chocolate allright!
I would probably photograph it from all possible angles, and then invite a bunch of phans to eat it with me. That chocolate won't last forever, anyway, and I'd rather enjoy it while it's good (and maybe make a fun film about when phans ate the Paris Opera) than have to throw it out later case the chocolate crumbled and the building collapsed.
And you guys wouldn't say no to such invite, just admit it!

Oh, yes! I love it!

Of course not. I'd probably be the first one to jump on a plane.
Phantom of the Opera and chocolate: my two favorite things on the face of the planet.

I emailed the promo office for the Argentine POTO production, asking about that laptop bag. Must have... I X my fingers!

LOL, I found that the other day too. Seems like they pre-empted our notebook idea. What's the email for the promo office? I really want the souvenir brochure and, if I can get it, the notebook.
Re: Merchandise suggestions
I got a reply from the Argentine merchandise people. They were very helpful! They found a solution on how I could pay for the items by credit card, and how to ship it. But... I almost fainted when I saw the shipping price:
$ 125
That is not including the items, it's for shipping alone. FedEx, good service etc. But ouch! I can' t pay that much just to get a hold on some (admittedly very cool) Phantom merchandise! I can see Phantom live in London for that price. Darn...

Eek! What did you want shipped over? D'you reckon it will come to that much if I request just the brochure?
Re: Merchandise suggestions
I asked about the brochure, the laptop cover and a small notebook. Not very heavy items! I could of course ask for an additional souvenir brochure for you, I don't think that would alter the price much. But the shipping is still insane...!Scorp wrote:Eek! What did you want shipped over? Re: Merchandise suggestions
I'd imagine that's not a flat rate for shipping and if you purchased more items to add to the total weight, that cost would increase. That being said, gathering more interested parties and ordering altogether could be of use in splitting the shipping charges. And it looks like they're having a liquidation sale from the 18th to 29th, so more savings there as well.
I for one, entertain the idea of getting the beret and lighter so I can be a Phantom of the Opera beatnik
R.
PS: Phantom LEGO sets! Put that on the list, Scorp! I'll keep working on prototypes in the meantime

Re: Merchandise suggestions
Ok, because it's late and I don't really want to read through the whole thread to see if I repeated someone else's idea by accident... here goes
- Book containing scans of all of Maria's design sketches and notes for the design of the show/costumes
- Miniature replica of the proscenium's Angel statue
- Phantomy artistic graphic tees (that aren't in flaming pink) with roses, masks, characters, lyrics etc...
- Plushie Music Box monkey
- Red Death doll (to complement the FAO Schwarz Phantom and Christine Barbie dolls that came out years ago)
- Bronze/bronze-colored bust statue of the Phantom
Umm, that's all I can think of for now!

Re: Merchandise suggestions
I'd like to see the Robert Heindel prints released again, particularly 'Beyond The Lake'. I've been searching years for it. The pop-up book was cool too.

Oh, yes...please, please, please. I love my classic black with a mask Phantom t-shirts, but I'd like somethings that are Phantomy, but a little less IN YOUR FACE...because I'm tired of my partner and going, "Oh, I see it's the Phantom" every single time I put on one of them.
Re: Merchandise suggestions
I have to second the following ideas:
-Updating the US brochures more often
- A book of Maria Bjornstrom's sketches
- and reprints of the Robert Heindel pieces. I'm particularly found of the one (I forget the name of the piece) of Christine in the wedding gown reaching out towards a mask.

"The End of Innocence" ?
One of the signed Artist Proof prints of that was up for grabs on eBay over the summer but I just couldn't put out the cash for it. *sigh* Ah well.

Re: Merchandise suggestions
I agree wholeheartedly with the calls for regularly updated US tour programs. It would be so nice to buy a program with at least one of the leads I'm seeing in it.

The one unique merchandise item that the recent Aussie production had was one of these - came with a little red velvet vest edge in gold braid with phantom logo on the back, a belt and pair of cymbols - so much better then the generic bears with tshirts

Re: Merchandise suggestions
I would love to have a tiny pair of mask earrings...
Somewhere I have a mug and the key chain, two music boxes, a couple t-shirts, various books.
I'd really like a print of one of Raphael's fine art drawings!

Re: Merchandise suggestions
They should make Phantom cologne and perfume again. I've been wearing KISS cologne for a few years now, and I'd switch to Phantom cologne if they'd put it out.
