Thanks for the reply Brianne! I Have another question, I know that tickets aren't on sale yet for when I want to go, but when they do I'm thinking about going to the 9:30 show. Is everyone still high energy that late????? And does Kristi always do the 9:30 show???? Very Happy

Has Las Vegas gone back to the old cast list (1 phantom, principal and alternate Christines) or is there a new Phantom being casted? and is the Christine schedule still evenly split or is it (again) back to Alternate taking matinees and when the Principal Christine is unavailable (before turning to the understudies)
We have been at the one Phantom, 'Principal' Christine, Alternate Christine and one Carlotta for over a year now. We started with so many actors, because when we opened, we had 10 shows a week. We are now down to the usual 8 shows a week and don't need that many actors. We don't have matinees, so 'PC' takes 6 shows a week and 'AC' gets Wednesday and Thursday. I'm not really up on the way things work if 'PC' calls in, but I would assume that 'AC' gets the call before the Understudy does.

Thanks for the answers, I've never been terribly up to date with Las Vegas Show (clearly).

Late Spring/Early Summer not sure which month. But I like to plan ahead. Hopefully the cast won't change!

Random question: In Masquerade do they use any mannequins? Or since it's Vegas were they able to hire more people for the scene?

There are 23 mannequins on both the stairs and the banister that flies in.

Excellent article. I love this:

Hal Prince wrote:It's an entertainment, and yet what it says is universal: Do not assume because someone is grotesque that they're threatening. We all shy away from a visual. You can be shying away from someone with a heart of gold and a giant intellect.

This is also very true, funny, and maddening:

The director says he and composer Lloyd Webber always agreed "the women in the audience had better regret" that the heroine Christine (Kristi Holden and sometimes Kristen Hertzenberg) didn't stay with the Phantom.

"But of course that's not possible, because no one would believe it."

And it wouldn't have left room for the sequel.

It's darker than most Megs, at least. Probably a blonde colour adjusted to Brianne Kelly Morgan's own colours, cause it looks very natural on her. But what about u/s Megs in Vegas - do their wigs have the same colour?

My wig color is more of a strawberry blonde due to my skin color. The U/S wigs are around the same color, but a little lighter than mine.

There's only a few hours left for this but fans of the Vegas production can vote for it as Best Show (box #16) for the Las Vegas Review Journal's 29th annual "Best of Vegas" awards.

http://www.lvrj.com/promotions/80858297.html
There are a lot of columns but you don't have to fill all of them.

Voting closes at 5pm Pacific Time today, Jan 25.

I wondered about that! Was about to vote earlier today, then I noticed the 60 something columns with different categories... Crazy!

Cross-posting from the LND thread since this mentions the Vegas production:

Producer Scott Zeiger, head of BASE Entertainment, welcomed the audience, which including Cirque du Soleil cast members. Also in the audience, Luxor President Felix Rappaport, who is meeting with Scott today about possibilities at the Luxor. Scott told me that as a producer and investor in The Phantom of the Opera, he’ll fly to London for Tuesday’s world premiere of its sequel Love Never Dies with Sierra Boggess, who was his star here in Phantom -- the Las Vegas Spectacular at The Venetian.

“We are automatically an investor in the American production of Love Never Dies, which will open at the Marquis Theater on Broadway in November. There are no plans whatsoever for it to come to Las Vegas for many years. Phantom is still doing good business here. Our Jersey Boys is still a sellout every night. Phantom has a good five years yet here, and we can always add guest name stars if necessary,” he said.

Guest name stars?
