Phantom Actors on Television

So... Phantomofthesalle and I (Madamecuratrix is my ID on Tumblr) played obsessive Phantom fangirls this weekend - more so than usual. We dug up IMBD pages for as many American actors who have played the Phantom in the US as we could find and hunted for their appearances in American television programs (aka - mostly Law & Order).

So, we present, 15 Phantom actors, with screencaps of their faces from TV shows, compared to photos of them as the Phantom. We didn't include Phantom actors who had only appeared in films (Sorry, Franc D'Ambrosio fans!) and also excluded actors who had appeared as themselves in telecast concerts and similar events.

(We're thinking about doing another series featuring foreign Phantoms. Thoughts?)

Nice work. It's funny that for all of Guillaume's starring roles, you chose a guest appearance on CSI.

Regarding Robert, actually it was more a question of how easily we could source nice-quality screencaps from *cough* episode sources. Newer programs had better image quality in general. So there's that.

The most difficult of all was Steve Barton. He had a recurring role for about a year in an old soap opera but there was no guide as to which episodes he was in; which is problematic when soaps run like 5 days a week. It was by pure luck (after a LOT of false leads and struggling through some of the most awful daytime television writing - and acting - we'd ever seen) that we found a clip of one of his episodes online, since he wasn't credited at all.

Bohmer: Psychiatrist
Crivello: Night club owner
Gaines: Corrupt district attorney and murderer
Gleason: Husband whose wife was murdered
Gray: Minister for a mission run by the royal family of Brunei
Guillaume: Gambler
Jacoby: Father of murder suspect
Lovett: Preppy new neighbor in Wayans' apartment complex
McGillin: Physical therapist
Nolen: Author
Norman: Attorney
O'Leary: Psychiatrist
Panaro: Hotel clerk

Good job on the list, ladies Law & Order really did get a lot of use out of the Broadway acting community, didn't it?

It filmed in New York, so it only makes sense that there was a lot of crossover with the Broadway acting pool.
