Check out this awesome song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z-NbQvhzKM

This animation film, set in 1910, is clearly Phantom-inspired. A masked monster (who's actually a giant flea) falls in love with a beautiful singer in Paris, who is known as the Angel. It's about to be released in French cinemas.

Alas, it seems they're using an awful English dub for its release in the US next year which I don't care for. If I see this, hopefully I'll see it in the original French.

I finally got around to seeing this, and I really love it! Nice songs, good story that's just on the gentle side of surreal, and Francouer is more adorable than a seven-foot-tall bug has any right to be.

So it's worth checking out? I might see if I can source the French version...problem is that DVDs from France are not cheap...

I think it's worth a look--it's kind of like PotO with a double shot of Pixar whimsy and maybe just a pinch of Miyazaki for spice.
