Can't have a forum without a spam thread.
So, on Sunday night, I pulled a muscle in my neck. Hurt something awful. Well, my partner James was trying to be helpful...he figured a hot compress would give me a little relief. So, he wet a towel, rolled it up, microwaved it, and put it around my neck. I immediately started howling in protest that it was "TOO HOT GET IT OFF ME NOW." James got frustrated, said it was NOT to hot, and...to prove his point...put it on his neck. Then he started howling that it was too hot. He took it off, unrolled it, and the darned thing was on fire inside.
So much for that.

My neck and shoulders are always aching. You should invest in one of those aromatherapy microwave heating pads and gel cold compresses. They're great.

I am a little lightheaded from giving blood... and a little tired. Long day, worked from 3am to 12 pm. Rude customers.

I had one of those...it was accidentally thrown out by the same genius who lit the towel on fire.
Thankfully, I don't get many pains!
An older cousin I haven't seen since I was two or three came by my house yesterday. We had a long talk and, well, I heard a lot of things that confirm or clarify things I've pieced together from memories and second-hand stories. Things that weren't pleasant to hear, but I feel better knowing them. It all justifies the way I've carefully distanced myself from most of my relatives.
It was a lot to handle...especially unexpectedly...but I feel better for it.

I think I have a serious problem if I can go to a major league baseball game and spend the duration staring at one player...

Ian Kinsler? Really? He's got nothing on Robinson Cano. Though perhaps you were staring at him for reasons other than his baseball skills, and in that case, I guess I can't judge.phantomphan1992 wrote:I think I have a serious problem if I can go to a major league baseball game and spend the duration staring at one player...

There might possibly be another reason I was staring at him. Just maybe...

I posted this on Phansonline, but since that's been on the fritz so often: my son Eric James (I know, I know, my husband and I agreed on the "c" spelling all right?) was born two weeks ago on September 21st. Yay!

Congratulations, LCD! That's wonderful.
Sounds perfectly normal to me. I've been known to do that at hockey games.

Re: Spam. Spam, I tell'ya!
Does anyone else see the strange icons that come up for some threads, where it would normally show if it was read or not? It's like a circle with a scrolling page in it. What does that mean?

I saw it a couple of times today, too. Don't know what it's supposed to be, though.

I've seen that too, just once, and only today. No idea what it means, but it was in a thread I had just posted in.

I'm getting eleven scrolling circles in the ALW section and a couple elsewhere ("So...Phansonline?" and Raph's Fans Week thread). They don't bother me any, but I'm curious as to what they signify.

Today's issue: How to write a 500 (and/or above) word essay about The Canterbury Tales, and not jump off the sixth floor of your apartment building. (500 words ain't much, but it's a pain in the a$$.)

Congratulations! How are you two doing?
Very well, thanks! Eric had some issues with jaundice early on (breastfeeding issues) which required another trip to the hospital and some bili-light treatment, but he's doing much better now, eating well and growing at a good pace.

LadyCDaae: Congratulations to you and your husband on the birth of baby Eric.
As to those symbols showing up on topics: If there's a "popular topic" and there are no new posts, then it shows that scrolling text symbol. Sort of odd looking.

Agreed! I'm a huge fan of the Doctor (though I still have yet to watch the old series/films), and am also curious about Matt Smith's version of the character. Thus far, between Chris Eccleston and David Tennant... I'd have to go with David as my favourite.

I was a Doctor Who fan for years. Doctors 2-5 (Patrick Troughton-Peter Davison) were my favorites. I've not seen the new episodes, but am told they're good!

Same here. I used to watch the series in reruns on PBS on Sunday afternoons...mainly a fan of Tom Baker (if I dress for Halloween this year, it may be as his Doctor) and Peter Davison. But, despite all the gushing and praise from a lot of friends, I still haven't seen the latest Doctors.
